We were lucky to catch up with Jammin’ Jay recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jammin’ thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on is the Golden Stage Network, a non-profit dedicated to bringing entertainment and enrichment to senior citizens. This project is especially close to my heart because of my grandmother, who was a lover of the arts and a bright light in my life.
She spent her final days in a medical care facility, sick and on her deathbed. Seeing her there, isolated and disconnected, made me realize how vital it is for seniors to have joy and engagement, even in their most difficult moments. After her passing, I wanted to honor her legacy by creating something that would bring light to others in similar situations. Through the Golden Stage Network, I can continue her love for the arts while enriching the lives of those who need it most.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Jammin’ Jay, and I’m all about bringing the sauce when it comes to entertainment! Whether I’m hosting/producing an event, voicing a character, singing my heart out, or writing something zen and introspective, I’m in it with everything I’ve got. I kicked off my journey singing in church, where I found out I could use my voice to do more than just croon—I could capture a room. That led me to the world of voice acting and hosting, where I’ve taken on everything from classy, high-end events to the wilder, kink-themed shows. No matter the vibe, I’m known for keeping it smooth and captivating with my deep, sultry voice and a style that’s all about class and fun.
In terms of what I do, I’m a one-stop creative shop! Hosting, voice acting, singing, writing, and producing—if it involves words, music, a mic, or entertainment, I’m your guy. I’ve lent my voice to burlesque performances, recording scripts for dancers who needed that extra flair to bring their acts to life, I blessed the stage as a host, and I’ve got this ongoing audio drama where I get to bring a character to life. And when it comes to music? Even though I enjoy my hip-hop and reggae, I’m all about that old-school soul, blues, country, and love ballads that take you back and make you feel everything. My goal is always to leave a mark and make sure you leave feeling like you experienced something real.
What sets me apart is my ability to be relatable, classy, and articulate, creating a connection with any audience, no matter the setting. I pride myself on bringing a polished yet genuine presence, knowing how to adapt to whatever the situation calls for—whether it’s smooth and sophisticated or full-on turnt up! My versatility ensures that everyone who tunes into what I’m doing feels the vibe and gets lost in the moment. I don’t just perform—I create experiences that stick with you long after the moment has passed, blending class with real, relatable energy.
So, if you’re looking for something real, unforgettable, and just a little bit fun, you’re in the right place. I’m all about making sure people have a blast, feel connected, and get a taste of something authentic. Making magic happen!

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Absolutely! My primary mission is to give back and help people. I love bringing smiles to people’s faces, even if that means putting myself on the line. At the core of everything I do, it’s about making a positive impact, whether through my creative work, my personal interactions, or just spreading joy in whatever way I can.
As a Black man and a senior VP at a Fortune 100 banking institution, I also want to send a strong message to those coming up behind me: you can be successful and still stay true to who you are. You can maintain character, integrity, and class while being a fan of hip hop, street culture, and “the hoodrat things” lol! Just because you hear people making music about busting a cap doesn’t mean you actually have to “bust a cap,” you know?
I also aim to be an example of a good entrepreneur. Conducting business with integrity and still being successful is absolutely achievable. It might take a little longer, and you might have to work a little harder than those who cut corners, but there’s nothing like building something yourself and watching it flourish the right way. Staying true to the course you set for yourself will always pay off in the long run.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One lesson I had to unlearn is that the path of humility and humbleness has its place, especially from a psychological perspective. I’ve always valued staying grounded, but I’ve realized that, at times, we all need to be seen or heard to move forward. The unfortunate truth is that most people aren’t willing to listen to someone who doesn’t have something to show.
I’m still learning how to balance humility with a bit of cockiness because, in certain situations, you need both to get where you want to be in life. It’s not about abandoning humbleness but recognizing that confidence and showing your worth can open doors that staying completely modest might not. Finding that balance has been key for me as I continue to grow personally and professionally.
