Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jamison Bennett . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jamison , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
I would have to say where i am in life right now , i am truly happy with being a artist and a creative , now it has not always been that way but i had to do a lot of soul searching , & i think every so often when things do not look like they adding up i do wonder about having a regular job , but then my brain is flooded with previous jobs that i have held in the past that really didnt allow me to be myself or even be able to spend time with my loved ones the way i wanted too , & its crazy but every time i start feeling like maybe i need to get a nine to five , the universe & faith kindly keeps me reminding me that isnt what i want and its not gonna allow me to find purpose the way i would like to.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
well I am a born & raised native of fay nc , I am the CEO of Juiceboxx cosmetics & a free lance make up artist , I started my company in 2020 , but before that i found my passion for cosmetics and beauty from the world of drag and sephora inside jcpenny , I had been playing around with make up for about a year or so before I interviewed at sephora , & once I got that position it was pretty much a wrap.
At first it was just a cool easy job , until I started really realizing that i had a gift , not only for selling make up , but a gift of educating my clients on skincare routines, new make up trends & most of all loving your self from the inside out , I eventually worked my way up to management & slowly lost the time that i was able to spend with my clients , & just started really feeling like I no longer had a purpose ,it was then that I knew it was time to venture off and start something new. I had been with sephora for 11 yrs , so I was a little confused about leaving & it didnt help that everyone around me had me questioning my choice to leave, I took a break to figure out what I really wanted next in my life.
I realized I wanted to be able to spend as much time as I wanted to with my clients , & to be able to have my own products that i could speak about with a burning passion , so 2020 my business partner & i Katrina williams started Juiceboxx Cosmetics .
Tbh right now I am just proud to be where I am in this moment, everyday I wake up blessed to be able to make my own schedule , & have my own products that I can speak about with passion to my clients , I do feel that i am a breath of fresh air & that I speak life into my clients , I do want potential clients to know that I am skilled artist with a passion for inner beauty as well as outer beauty.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
I really think that we are in the age of artist and creatives and that society can be a little more understanding that a artist and creative everyday life is not gonna look like someone who works a 9-5 .

What do you find most rewarding about being creative?
I think the most rewarding aspect of being artist is seeing the final product , its so many layers and step and most dont trust the process , but when the process is finished I think that is where the real beauty and joy lives , I love seeing the looks on my clients faces after i am done .
