Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jamir Waters. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jamir, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission is to bring creativity and connection to people through food and fashion. As a chef and brand ambassador, I want to inspire confidence—whether it’s in the kitchen or through personal style. It’s meaningful to me because I’ve seen how food and self-expression can change lives, and I want to be part of that transformation.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Jamir, a chef and brand ambassador with a passion for food, fashion, and creating experiences that leave a lasting impression. My journey into the culinary world started with a deep love for cooking, but it quickly evolved into something bigger—helping people connect through food while also inspiring confidence and creativity through style. Whether it’s a high-end dining experience, a curated menu for an event, or a collaboration with a brand, my goal is always the same: to bring people together through food.
As a brand ambassador, I work with companies that align with my vision of quality, innovation, and style. I bring authenticity to the brands I represent, helping them connect with audiences in a real and engaging way.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A powerful lesson I had to unlearn is that being talented is enough to succeed. For a long time, I believed that as long as I was skilled in the kitchen and passionate about what I did, opportunities would naturally come my way. But I quickly learned that talent alone isn’t enough—consistency, networking, and learning how to market myself were just as important.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
The backstory? Early in my career, I put all my focus on perfecting my craft as a chef, thinking that if I just cooked amazing food, everything else would fall into place. But I noticed that others—some with less skill—were getting ahead because they knew how to put themselves out there, build relationships, and position their brand effectively. I had to step out of my comfort zone, learn the business side of things, and become intentional about how I presented myself.
Now, I understand that success isn’t just about what you create—it’s about how you share it with the world. That shift in mindset changed everything for me.
