We were lucky to catch up with Jamiere Shagwell recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jamiere thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I started rapping with my Friends back in Brooklyn, NY everyone around me had the talent but wasn’t thinking on the business side I decided to research & study the music industry attending our local liberty. I started Strictly Management Back 2011 my first official artist was “Dice Gambino” we released his anticipate mixtape called “Terror to my City” that year was the happiness time in my life creating beats from scratch recording and mastering all 17 records.

Jamiere, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started loving music when I attended middle school in Starrett City Brooklyn NYC. 50 cent released “Get Rich or Die Trying” every artist was creating diss tracks my friends and I starting create tapes dissing at our classmates in school. The diss tracks traveled around the neighbor did the point fans was asking for more music. I use yahoo search found a studio in Flatbush and recorded our first song. I was rapping on songs and to be honest I never love my voice. I used to attend music seminars online learning how to manage artist 2011 I got my first experience interning with Rick Ross label “Maybach Music Group” I learned about touring handling budgets booking major artist travel expenses. When I moved back to Atlanta, GA 201 5 I created my own Management company called Stricky management I signed my first singer Rap artist even a model in Louisiana. Since then I’ve established great relationships in different cities working with Atlanta artist peewee longway, Skooly Lil keed Yung Mal creating beats with Twysted Genius Kuttz Beats Dc Global and danmplug. 2022 Piranha digital is all service management & marketing company we provide Artist devolvement Music placements and press run in Metro Atlanta.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
I Think the best source is social media before reaching out to any client I research there music and biography I read there comments and fan reaction. Everything looks positive I emailed the new client discuss there future and creating the best single go from there.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
The lesson I’ve unlearn is don’t let your life change spot your dream. I have two girls and I took a setback from my music career I thought it was the right thing to do for my family at the time. I feel like If i never stopped my situation will be a little different right now.
