We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jamie Manzuik. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jamie below.
Jamie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
Being an avid luxury handbag collector I stumbled across Season2Consign on instagram one day. I found Monica and Erica doing a live shopping show and was immediately drawn in. These girls knew their stuff and they were wam and inviting. This was such a different experience than going to a website to shop. They interacted with you, they tried bags on for you, showed. you corners, EVEN FLAWS if there were any! I felt like I was shopping with my girlfriends. I made my first purchase and then several more followed. The customer service was fantastic! A year after getting familiar with S2C I noticed they were talking about franchising. I imagined myself in a closet of luxury items doing the same thing and felt this urge to make the call to start the process. Of course the first call was to my husband Steve. He encouraged me to go forward with the idea. He was extremely supportive from the get go. I knew I had a certain amount knowledge of the industry and definitely the passion. I contacted Monica and Erica via email and let the know I was interested in becoming a franchise owner and a few weeks later I was in Florida meeting the Season2Consign team and learning about their process. I went home know this was a path I wanted to take and decided to bring my daughter on board. A short while later my daughter and I were back in Florida to learn how to run our own Season 2 consign franchise. We spent a week there and gained lots of knowledge. Once back home in Las Vegas, we found a space to do build our showroom and got our keys shortly after.
Jamie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Jamie Manzuik and I am the owner of Season 2 Consign Las Vegas. We are a consignment and pre loved luxury handbag e commerce shop. I can help local customers sell their pre loved luxury items. We authenticate in house using Entrupy and do live shopping shows a few times a week! We have luxury handbags, wallets, small leather goods. accessories like sunglasses, jewelry and scarves. We also have items that we have sourced from all over the world and can offer them to our customers at great prices. I am a little different than the average luxury shopper you could say. Im fully tattooed and a little wild haha. I had an experience at a Chanel boutique where I felt like I was ignored or not taken seriously due to my appearance, tattoos and all. Finally a lovely lady came from the back and asked me if I need help and I gladly accepted, I advised her what I was looking for and I left with my caramel classic double flap with silver tone hardware and a new Chanel SA who I still use to this day. I want to be able to provide that same comfortable safe space for all people who perhaps have had similar experiences. My space is a little wild, a little eccentric and we have fun here! All are welcome! You can see my personality in my items that are available online, lots of color and wild styles, studs, bold patterns! I have a grafitti wall in my office, Im not a neutral color kinda person hahaha. On our live shopping shows we have had some guest hosts such as Heidi Shepherd (lead singer of The Butcher Babies) and Shannon Gunz Sirius XM dj. We have done some wild giveaways on our shows, tickets to see metal legends Mudvayne and another one for Latin star Peso Pluma! We like to talk about what is happening in Vegas, luxury brand history, price increases with certain brands, how a certain style came about. A lot of our content is humor. I cant be serious all the time haha
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
In 2o20 I had to have multiple spinal surgeries, that led to nearly a year of bedrest and relearning how to walk. I needed help with everything! I was so used to being active! It was frustrating pivoting to being sedentary. That whole process flipped a switch in my brain that made me want to be the strongest and fittest version of myself that I had ever been. I was able to finally workout 12 months later and 9 months after that I competed in a fitness show and ranked in the top 17 of the world. The new confidence helped me make a choice to go forward with starting a buisness.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Doing things on my own out of pride. I had to learn to let others help me.
