Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jamie Cone. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jamie, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I used to think success came from working harder. So I hustled harder—built my businesses while raising four kids, hit top ranks, and checked all the boxes. But behind the scenes, I was experiencing burnout, resentment, and feeling stretched thin. That’s when I realized: success isn’t about hustling harder—it’s about having a foundation that can actually hold the weight of what you’re building.
This was a huge “aha” moment for me. I had a clear vision of a table with four legs. The top of the table represented me—my brand and my business. The legs were what held it all up, keeping everything steady and supported. And with that, the Tabletop Success System™ was born—a simple system to help balance all areas of building and sustaining a business. A framework rooted in four key elements: time management, consistency, systems, and mindset.
To become successful—and more importantly, stay successful—you need to manage your time with intention, show up with consistency, build systems that support growth, and protect your mindset like your life depends on it. Because honestly, your peace and purpose do.
Success doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from building smarter. And that’s what I teach—and remind myself—every single day; success requires four strong legs: time management, consistency, systems, and mindset.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi, I’m Jamie Cone. Born and raised Jersey girl, married to my high school sweetheart for almost 25 years, and mama to 4 amazing children. I never really set out to build a business and never dreamed it would turn into this—I just followed the fire. I’ve been in the beauty industry since I was 18, but it wasn’t until I became a top income earner in social selling that I realized how powerful it is to not only transform skin—but actual lives. That’s when everything changed.
I built my first multiple six-figure business from home while raising my kids, and what started as makeup tutorials and skincare tips turned into a movement of women who wanted more—more money, more freedom, more fulfillment, more confidence. I realized that the impact I could make with my beauty knowledge, coupled with my business success, could be a huge vehicle to empower women across the board.
Over time, I saw a major gap. So many women were working hard but still feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and unsure of their worth. That’s what led me to create Jamie Cone & Co.—a coaching and speaking platform that brings mindset, systems, and strategy together in a way that actually makes sense for ambitious women—especially those juggling real life. I coach through a framework I created called the Tabletop Success System™, which helps women build success that’s sustainable by focusing on four core pillars: time management, consistency, systems, and mindset.
I think one thing that really sets me apart is that I’ve done it. I’ve lived the burnout, built from the ground up, rebuilt again, and created a system that works. I’m not just giving motivational fluff—I give strategy, tools, and mentorship that actually move the needle. My clients don’t just get results—they feel seen, supported, and empowered. I blend beauty and business, faith and fire, strategy and soul. I teach through experience—not just theory. I show up real, raw, and imperfect, and that resonates with people. Women are sick of hype, filters, and fluff—I’m sick of it too. So I shoot straight and give clear, concise strategies to help women scale their businesses based on their goals.
I guess what I really want women to understand is that there is a different way of doing it. You don’t need to sacrifice your precious time to build something of value. There’s a better way, and I’m not gatekeeping it. There’s enough success to go around—and when we share what we know, everyone wins. Everyone can have a piece of the pie, and if we run out? We’ll just bake another pie.
I recently taught a workshop out in Malibu, and it was such an eye-opening experience. I watched these women work through some of these systems and actually saw it click in their minds—the realization that they could build and make an impact on their terms. And man, it was powerful! So many of these women had nothing in common other than they were building a brand or business. Each one of them was incredibly different, but to see them evolve and grow as they went through the steps was just amazing. So different, yet the outcome was the same for each of them.
So now, at 47 years old, I sit back and look at my life and what I’ve created and think, “If I can do this, anyone can—and I’m going to show them how.” It took me until my 40s to realize that success is not about sacrifice. There’s a better way. I wish I had known then what I know now, but I’m so grateful to know it at all.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Oh man, this was a scary pivot! Back in 2020, my husband and I owned several businesses—one was an import/supply company for boutiques, and the other was a thriving boutique with a huge in-person local following. My husband focused on the sourcing, and I focused on the styling and selling.
Well, when the pandemic hit, we had to make a HUGE pivot. No more in-person sales, and our supply chain was cut off—most everything was coming in from China. We were panicked. This was how we supported our family of six in New Jersey!
So that’s when I really leaned into what I knew: beauty. This was a season where the lipstick effect played out before our very eyes. The lipstick effect is a concept in business that refers to a phenomenon where consumers continue to spend money on small indulgences—like lipstick—even during times of economic downturn or financial uncertainty.
And because everyone was homebound during that time, they didn’t need new clothes—but they did still want their skincare and beauty products. So I shifted my focus from fashion to full-force beauty. It was risky because the client journey is so different, and the trust you have to build is so different—but it paid off. I started building my social media differently, really intentionally. I redesigned my business avatar and started serving my audience in a new way.
Thankfully, it worked. Within a matter of months, my beauty brand was producing more income than my boutique ever had. I was also able to reduce my overhead costs immensely, because my beauty products are all drop-shipped—so I didn’t need to worry about stocking inventory or sourcing. I freed up time, money, and space.
Well worth the pivot.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
My journey on Instagram was not a quick rise to growth. I made so many mistakes along the way—but in the end, it worked out. I’ve been on IG for a long time and did everything wrong, from buying followers to using bad filters. So I’m actual proof that you can weather that storm and still grow a sustainable business there—even with the hiccups and bots.
I have two pieces of advice for anyone starting out or looking to grow on social media:
First, identify your core messaging. Your core messaging is essentially what you’re saying and who you’re saying it to. When you know that, you can start determining how to say it. Digging into that message early on allows you to serve your audience in a way they actually want to be served—and that leads to a higher ROI and better conversions for your business. Don’t get caught up in automation and systems until you’ve nailed down your core messaging. It has to come first, or your message will fall on deaf ears. On social media, when you’re talking to everyone, you’re talking to no one. So get specific—this matters.
Secondly, grow a thick skin—fast. Keyboard warriors are real, and women bashing other women is so prevalent on social media it’ll make your head spin. I had a piece of content go viral—just a simple makeup tip—and the amount of hate and vicious comments on it would make you rethink ever logging in again. And most of it came from other women, which was wild to me. It wasn’t even about the content—it was about my appearance. People tearing me apart because of how I looked.
It was hard. I cried. I let it get to me.
But then, I flipped the script.
I reminded myself: hurt people hurt people. I started responding with kindness and gently reminded people that I’m a real person behind the screen. Some responded well. Some didn’t. But it didn’t matter—because I took that viral piece of content and put on my business hat. I repurposed it multiple times, and it brought in over 10,000 new followers and millions of views for my brand. I still keep that content running today—because, as they say, you know you’ve made it when you have haters. 😏
So grow a thick skin—and make the trolls work for you!
