Hi Jamie Ann, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear how you think where to draw the line in terms of asking friends and family to support your business – what’s okay and what’s over the line?

“Let me share this incredible chapter of my journey with you! Picture this: instead of the typical route of hiring models, I had the immense privilege of having not just one or two, but a whole squad of friends gather in LA at my best friend Louella’s photography studio. And guess what? They did it all for free! Can you believe it?

We spent the day together, laughing, joking, catching up on life, and, of course, getting creative with my clothing line. It was a beautiful fusion of friendship, laughter, and artistry. One of my dearest friends, Ishia, always claims she’s not a model, but let me tell you, she absolutely lights up the camera lens!

And the support didn’t stop there. My old roommate Doan and his girlfriend were there, happily steaming the garments for me, adding their own touch of love to the process. Then there were my incredibly talented friends Tony, Antoine, Louella, Ashley, Casandra, Sarah, and Jessica, all seasoned actors whom I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with in the past. Their energy, charm, and sheer talent breathed life into every shot, and they even brought along more friends to join in the fun!

I can’t even begin to express how blessed I felt in that moment. You see, designing can often be a solitary journey, filled with nothing but your thoughts. But having the enthusiastic support of your nearest and dearest? It’s like a burst of sunshine on a cloudy day. Their love and encouragement lifted me higher than I ever thought possible.

You see, growing up as a 90s baby, I was raised on a steady diet of Disney fairytales, where the prince always rode in on his noble steed to whisk you away into happily ever after.

But here’s the thing – in the real world, you’re that prince or princess. You’re the hero of your own story, and the key to unlocking your own happily ever after lies within you. It’s about loving yourself fiercely, passionately, and unapologetically, each and every day.

I’ll admit, there were times when I found myself seeking validation from the outside world, waiting for someone else’s approval to give me the green light to pursue my dreams with Thespian Heart Clothing.
