We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jami Brewer a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jami, thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission is to guide others in reclaiming their personal sovereignty—to help them heal, reconnect with their true, authentic self, and consciously create the life they daydream about.
In 2020, six months after giving birth, I found myself in a codependent and unhealthy relationship with someone who was struggling with their own demons. I was raising a newborn, managing the household, and stepping in as the primary caregiver and teacher to my partner’s ten-year-old daughter during lockdown. I was overextended, reactive, and slowly unraveling.
My breaking point came when that ten-year-old looked at me and said, “You’re always yelling at me.” I didn’t realize it at the time, but that sentence would stay with me until I finally understood why I couldn’t shake it.
I had become the very voice of fear, shame, and criticism I had internalized throughout my own life. And I knew I couldn’t keep living that way. I didn’t want to pass that on to my daughter. I didn’t want to be the voice of shame or criticism that echoed in someone else’s mind. I wanted her to grow up making healthier choices, unafraid to live from her heart—even if it looked different from the norm. But I knew I couldn’t teach her that if I didn’t know how to do it myself.
So I began doing the inner work—peeling back the layers, healing, releasing control, and remembering who I was… who I wanted to be, before life buried that part of me.
One day, I came across a creator talking about the Law of Attraction. I had heard of it before but never really explored it. That moment sparked something in me. I started meditating twice a day, making space for the things that mattered to me, and saying “no” to what didn’t—or to what I knew would lead to burnout. I started focusing on who I wanted to become, which led to changes in my habits, mindset, and lifestyle.
I completely transformed who I was and for the first time, I felt whole. I built a new foundation. I found clarity, peace, and purpose. I learned that true empowerment doesn’t come from trying to control life but it comes from trusting yourself enough to fully live it.
This mission itself is meaningful to me because I’ve lived the pain and consequences of self-abandonment and I’ve also experienced the freedom that comes from coming home to yourself. Helping others navigate that journey isn’t just work, it’s my offering, it’s my redemption to my younger self, and my way of helping change the narrative for the next generation. Because I genuinely believe that if we want to see change in the world, we must become that change—but most people were never taught how. So that’s what I want to help them do.

Jami, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Jami Brewer. I am 40 years old. I have a beautiful daughter and wonderful partner. I love getting lost in fantasy tv & movies, and my biggest creative outlet is dancing. I live on the East Coast of North Carolina by the ocean and I love it here.
I’ve always been fascinated by the mystical and esoteric. In a lot of ways it made more sense to me that then “real world” structures I was learning. However, I got into Tarot by happenstance. I had come across my mentor on TikTok and was amazed at how she could know so much information & give incredible advice based on what a handful of cards revealed. I also loved how the interpretations weren’t like what we see in pop-culture. It didn’t seem cliche or scary in anyway. So I decided to buy my own deck and have a little fun with it. I have always had strong intuition and wondered “if she can do it, can I?” I soon began to incorporate Astrology into the readings and it created another layer of depth and timing. Learning the astrology aspect of it came more naturally to me than Tarot did. I now utilize both to help guide and direct clients.
I eventually became a certified Wellness Coach because I wanted to ground what I was doing into something practical. People were receiving insight, but they weren’t being given real, tangible tools or steps to take based on that insight. I wanted to bridge that gap—to ground the mystical into something accessible, usable, and real. Tools or skills that people can use during their day to day to keep them connected to their reason for change.
I offer a variety of services like are pre-recorded readings (for those who don’t have the time to sit down face to face) or LIVE tarot readings as well as 1:1 Coaching services which can include Tarot or not. I also provide a lot of free content such as a weekly newsletter, a blog as well as readings and guidance on my YouTube channel. This work is deeply personal to me and I’m intentional about making my work as accessible as possible. And I am very excited for the future because I will be including workshops, masterclasses as well as an e-book.
I tend to work with people who feel stuck, disconnected, or like they’ve been living for everyone but themselves. A lot of my clients are people who are in transitional periods of their life and are looking for the next step. They may feel overwhelmed, unsure of what do to, or lost in the chaos of doing and performing.
I think what sets my work apart is how personal and grounded it is. This isn’t just about spirituality or tarot for entertainment—it’s about healing at the root and learning how to lead your life from the inside out.
My style of coaching is honest, reflective and empowering. I don’t do fear-based readings or just give you answers, I want to help you find your own. Whether it’s through any of my services, my goal is always the same which is to help bring people home to themselves. I think the thing that sets me apart is trust and an ability to see patterns of behavior or thinking they not be able to see themselves. I can help them strategize and make tangible changes that help lead them to their goals.
Honestly? I think what I am proud of the most is that I became ( am becoming, It’s still a work in progress. haha) the person I used to daydream about. I became the person I think I always needed myself to be. That I turned my challenges into a foundation for others to rise from. That my daughter sees a version of womanhood rooted in sovereignty, empowerment, love and strength. I’m proud of the community I’m building and the quiet, powerful impact this work continues to have—one person at a time.
If you’re drawn to my work, you’re likely someone who knows there’s more for you—you just want to trust yourself enough to claim it. And that’s exactly what I’m here to help you do.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn is the belief that what I have to offer isn’t “good enough.” That my voice doesn’t matter as much. That there are smarter people, more articulate people, people who’ve been saying it longer, louder, or better and so I should just stay quiet.
That mindset has kept me stuck for a long time. It has made me second-guess my ideas, my intuition, and my creativity. I’d shrink back from opportunities because I thought, “Who am I to say this? What if someone else already has?” Even when I deeply believed in the work I was doing or what I wanted to say, I felt like I had to wait until I was more polished, more successful, or more confident to be taken seriously.
But the truth is, we don’t get confidence first, we build it by showing up anyway. As cliche as it sounds we overcome that challenge by facing it and doing it.
I’ve had to learn that my voice is enough—not because it’s perfect, but because it’s mine. No one else has my story, my perspective, or my energy. And just because someone else has said it doesn’t mean I shouldn’t. The way I say it might be exactly how someone needs to hear it.
Now, I try to use my voice every day in my business, my readings, my coaching, and my content. It’s not always easy, but it’s important. It’s how I connect, how I am able to serve others, and how I reclaim power—not just for myself, but for everyone who’s ever felt like they needed permission to take up space.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
About a year into my healing journey, right when things were finally starting to feel stable, I hit an unexpected wall. I began having massive panic attacks, out of nowhere. For nearly a month straight, I had one every single day. I stopped eating. I lost weight. I became terrified of leaving the house and was hyper aware of everything around me. It was like all the confidence and progress I had worked so hard to build came crashing down, and I felt like I was back at square one.
It was one of the scariest periods of my life because of what I was facing internally. The fear was so loud, and it made me question everything. I had no idea what was going on and all of the tools I had learned up to that point weren’t helping. So I decided I needed help from a professional and I reached out. I got help from a therapist, and I learned how to use the tools I was learning in therapy with the tools I had collected throughout my spiritual and personal development work.
And slowly, I rebuilt. Not just the progress I had lost, but a deeper, stronger foundation. I learned how to sit with fear without letting it run the show. I practiced self-compassion, nervous system regulation, challenging my own thoughts and started treating my healing like a sacred responsibility, not just something that made me feel good .
It’s one of those moments that solidified the idea that spiritual tools are amazing when used properly, but sometimes they don’t always provide the skill sets needed to physically or mentally counter the hardships a lot of people experience in everyday life and I want to be someone who shows others that the metaphysical & physical can work together beautifully.
