Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jameson Russell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jameson, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
“My journey into starting my management business began with my roots in the nightlife industry, where I thrived by throwing unforgettable parties, hosting events, and forming dynamic promo teams. The success I found in orchestrating high-energy events gave me the confidence to believe that managing a single entity would feel second nature compared to controlling the chaos of a party. Growing up in a family dedicated to service, I’ve always valued hard work and the importance of helping others. With this foundation, I decided to establish my own firm, driven not only by a passion for personal growth but also by a commitment to putting my best effort into seeing my clients succeed. My ultimate goal is to build a legacy of success and opportunity within the entertainment industry.”
Jameson, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
“My journey into management began earlier than most—back in middle school, when I threw my first party. Looking back, it’s funny to think about how serious I was, complete with wristbands, invitations, and even a red carpet. Even then, I understood the importance of making everyone feel valued. That understanding of people became a defining trait for me as I grew up.
By high school, my passion for hosting events took off. My friends and I went from throwing mansion parties to renting out venues, learning the ropes of event planning and promotion at a young age. When I got to college, the tradition continued. We organized events both back home and in our college towns, keeping the momentum alive. Eventually, I transitioned from just party-throwing to forming a promotional team, managing over 40 people alongside a partner for an extended period.
These experiences, combined with my education as a political science major and business management minor, prepared me for the next step: starting my own management firm. Insomniak Management focuses on managing individual clients rather than large groups, with a dedication to going above and beyond to ensure their success. From promotion and booking to planning, budgeting, and assisting with their growth, we’re always on call. Unlike traditional hours, we pride ourselves on reliability at any time of day.
Growing up in a family dedicated to service, attending church, and playing sports instilled in me the values of teamwork and service—qualities that now define my business approach. My proudest moment so far has been working with my most prestigious client, Bali Baby. She has pushed me to grow as a manager and mogul, helping secure brand deals and take on new endeavors.
This year, with a roster of talented artists on the brink of stardom, I’m confident it will be our best year yet. Insomniak Management is a name you’ll be hearing a lot more of in 2025.”
How’d you meet your business partner?
My business partner and I actually met during a Delta Debutante event, where we were both serving as escorts for the lovely young ladies. Interestingly, despite living in the same county, having moms in the same sorority, and even working the same job, we had never crossed paths before. When we finally met, we instantly clicked, realizing how much we had in common. What started as a natural friendship quickly evolved into a partnership where we began making money and gaining recognition together. It’s been an incredible journey of shared goals and success ever since.”
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
This is actually the fourth artist I’ve had the privilege of working with, and the journey hasn’t always been easy. There were times when I almost stepped away from the game entirely. I had to learn some hard lessons along the way—like the importance of not overinvesting in an artist and ensuring I wasn’t working harder than they were. Through faith and God’s guidance, I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to be where I am today, and I’m grateful for every challenge that has shaped me into the manager I’ve become.”
