Jamesha , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
I would say I’m pretty happily content with being an artist or creative. I started doing I was in school and I would stay up all night finishing my painting and I was proud of myself and what I completed, God blessed me with such a wonderful talent, I am able to paint anything that comes to my mind but at times I would say maybe I’m not cut out to be an artist, maybe I need to find something else to do but I pushed aside them negative doubts and I kept going and the more I practiced the more I got better over the years so I am truly blessed and thankful I didn’t give up on myself and now I’m accepted into my university I was interested in attending and I’m working on getting my bachelor’s degree in graphic design. So this is my story and also aside from doing art I work with my mom in her dog grooming salon and I detail cars on the side for myself and I do a pretty good job but yes this is my story.
Jamesha , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I would say what I’m most proud of is being African American but not only that I’m proud of my talent that I have with my hands to create art. The main thing I want potential clients, followers or fans to know about my brand and/or my work is I’m very dedicated to my work, I don’t like to give up on myself just because it might be a little difficult or I tell myself I’m not cut out to be no artist, but I keep pushing, I fix my errors and mistakes and I always look forward to the end results of my work.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is letting others see the creativeness in an artist and help people understand the back story behind it.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Support. Support is what I would say is what society can do to support artists, creative, and an thriving creative ecosystem because just by supporting the arts and creative you doing a big part just by supporting
