We recently connected with James Reidinger and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, James thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
I am often asked how I named my business, Gringoface Designs.
Long story short – I have a long-lasting career in Call Center operations. While managing a call center in Costa Rica, a taxi driver called me Gringoface. From that day on, I used that name to identify myself and it naturally was the chosen name when I started my business.
Gringoface Designs started out as just a store-front on print-on-demand sites, like Redbubble, Society6, etc. While creating work for myself, I started getting inquiries for custom T-shirt designs. Then, was asked to do a few logos. Seeing the opportunity to help small businesses thrive in their market – the pivot was made into brand design. Now, we handle most of a small business’ marketing, providing a full-service approach to small businesses.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Gringoface Designs provides branding solutions for small businesses. Getting that call from a client who has just started their business, and is serious enough to make their business look professional – is an empowering feeling. We are helping build someone’s dream.
On top of building my business, I also have a long career in Call Center operations and Human Resources. I am now sharing my leadership insights onstage at conferences and speaking engagements such as DisruptHR. Using my marketing experience with Gringoface Designs, the Human Resource department focuses on the employee experience, feedback, and creating engaging experiences.
At Gringoface Designs, we make small businesses into BIG BRANDS. We really enjoy seeing an idea turn into a tangible business that thrives in the local community. The clients we work with become long-term relationships.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Networking.
As simple as going out there and talking about yourself to others. That has been the biggest impact on the business. We can post into the void of social media and hope someone who needs your service will see it. Most the time – they don’t. So you have to go out there and get it.
Going to conferences, or just walking into a small business and speaking to the owner to identify their struggles and how you can help them – is well worth the effort. People buy from people. Get out there, and start showing the people who you are.
When I can’t visit or talk to people face to face, I am giving them a call. Cold outreach is a hit or miss, but it starts the conversation if you have nothing else to go on. Don’t be afraid to pick up the phone.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Being top of mind is the best advice I was ever given. A quick email or phone call asking, “How is everything going?” goes a long way. We’ve been able to maintain great relationships with clients and even obtain recurring work by simply having a quick check-in.
Our work doesn’t end with the deliverables being sent. That’s when the relationship is really getting started for the long-term.
Branding is just about consistency. Building that loyalty is simply being consist with your communication.
