We recently connected with James Randall Guffey Jr and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, James Randall thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
While watching professional
wrestling at an early age. I did not
quite grasp the concept because I
wasn’t in school. I quickly fell in love
with it in 2nd grade at James Lewis
Elementary.

James Randall, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hey everyone, and to all the viewers taking their precious time out of their day to know me. My name is James R
Guffey Jr was born and raised in Blue Springs, Missouri 1985. I perform under the name of, The Guff D.D Dimmadome. While Growing up, pro wrestling caught my eye. I quickly fell in love with this form of sports entertainment, professional wrestling in 2nd grade at James Lewis Lewis Elementary. At that point, I knew this was something I wanted to do. The special thing is my best friend, fellow classmate, we both knew. What is crazy these two 2nd-grade classmates, both perform at the same company. That’s nuts because it isn’t supposed to happen like that. Let me tell you, there is no one else I would have beside my side. I would like to tell that, classmate Daniel Sikorski, thank you! I have been in this business for roughly over 5 years. It goes pretty fast, but I love every second &. There is nothing better than what I do. I mean, how many people can say they do what I do? It’s all about whether or not you have inspired someone. Was there a kid that you inspired? Did you create a moment that will last forever? Did you touch someone’s life? This life is like a book, we choose what we write, and how the story ends. This is the only motivation you need, chase it, and go after it.
I am currently a pro wrestling manager at Kansas City Extreme Wrestling. It’s a sports league out in Raytown, Missouri, where we train daily. Do some traveling from time to time. Which, I got some funny stories, will be sharing. The best thing about this business, it is the people you meet. It’s not only that but the workers in the locker rooms. All the personalities, backgrounds, and the passion. My character The Guff D.D Dimmadome basically someone who became wealthy in Las Vegas, Nevada. This man-made it by gambling, investing, and building a portfolio. ThT why he moved to Texas because everything is bigger. His slogan, is, “I’ll make you famous!”. I got it from my favorite Western movie the young guns. His favorite thing to say is Da Women, Da Planes, and Da Money. He’s about bringing the best talent, clientele, and showcasing memorable moments. The fans need a speaker, and that’s me.
Some of my best moments that stand out, would half to be traveling. In this profession, you’re always traveling, at a taping, meeting, or some kind of business function. This is when we began traveling to a Kansas wrestling promotion. Towards the end of 2022, I and fellow worker began to travel on the road together. We were going to a show out in Larned, Kansas. We notice some rattling in the front of the car, we look over at each other. He says I think you got a flat tire, we hear a huge pop. There are cornfields all around us, and we pull into a stranger’s driveway, which is past Witchita, Kansas. I go up to the front door explaining the situation, to this sweet woman. She then proceeded to hand us some sweet lemonade. The tow truck gets there two hours later, and we then show up late to take the stage down. Now at this point, we tell the promoter what happens. It impress them so much, the staff took notice.
We go back our their Oct 28th, the show is Nightmare of Larned. I have my first-ever career tag match. I got the hardest chop ever. The promoter felt so bad because everyone heard it. My chest looked like a hamburger, hand-printed for a week. The sound was like a gun shoot going off, just the echo in the center. Now 11, 2022 we go to Larned, Kansas community center for Totally Justified. This is where I have my first career single match against Akuma. The medic, in the stands through he legit choke me out. We are backstage, ask if I was okay. He was more mad at the ref for not seeing the tap out. I shook his hand and hugged him. One of the proudest moments I had that night was meeting Tommy Dreamer. Tommy Dreamer gave me the best professional advice. He took the time to sit by me and take two selfies with me. The advice was always to be in character because you never know what, who is watching. This time we’re all going out to Horton, Kansas Nov 19th to honor a World Wrestling Express legend. I get a ticket from Horton police.,only happens on TV, but we still talk about it. What is even worst about this situation, the same officer checks on us at the show.
Professional wrestling is most dangerous when you’re coming home from a show. That year I lost a good friend, who I train with, just coming home from a show. I can relate because me in Mason were in a car wreck coming home ourselves. The most important thing is we were safe, but the car was totaled. Mason is flirting with the lady cop the entire time. This was while we were taken to the police station, she needed to switch vehicles. After just laying in the bed of the truck. Thinking to myself, is he going to get her number. It’s cold out, probably 30s. We get taken to a hotel at three in the morning in Wichita, Kansas. The hotel has a roach issue, we didn’t get any sleep, and wouldn’t get my money back.
We need to accept one another and love each other. Let’s stop labeling each other, and making up excuses not to accept someone. It doesn’t matter if you are disabled, have autism, are blind, death, or have a speech impairment. That doesn’t mean you’re different from anyone. We all came from Adam in Eve. When it comes down to it, we are all people. Don’t let someone stop you from making your dream happen. If you believe in yourself anything is possible.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal is to be an amazing role model and be a motivational speaker. Inspire as many people as I can. In this world, they’re so many people who are out for themselves. The main objective is to just be mentioned in my town. Maybe even the Missouri athletic hall.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Seeing what impact you have on fans’ lives.
