We caught up with the brilliant and insightful James Quinn a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

James , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.

When you decide to pursue your dream you 1st must learn your craft. Understanding what it is you do & why you do it will give you the creative edge you need to succeed. Ask questions. Study your material. Absorbs as much information as possible. Take time to work in every area possible related to your craft so you can mentally break down the process with little distractions.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is James Quinn. I am an award winning actor in the United States from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.

I have been acting for the better part of two decades. I have appeared in many television shows, Hollywood Films & Commercials over the years.

I really cut my teeth on the independent film circuit as well as internationally. I have had the great fortune of headlining many films on popular streaming platforms around the world.

I am extremely proud of many of my films such as SANDMAN, The 12th Letter, Checkmate, The Boonies, Before The Border & many more.

I have also written & directed many films. I have a strong love for the writing and creative process as well my acting.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?

I believe the best wait to support creative artists is by visiting our works in person or through streaming & magazines , podcast etc.. People crave alternative to the normal. Creative artist can provide a fresh change.

Interact with creatives on social media in a positive & safe manner wether it be criticism or complimentary. Feedback means so much to us.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

When I started out in this business so many people thought I was crazy. Mainly because none they personally new has made it in the entertainment business. My journey was met with resistance, with criticism and more importantly with lost friendships.

I heard everything but refused to listen ti any of it. As a result I have stayed focused , resourceful & resilient. I have headlined films that stream around the world, I have been Interviewed all over the world. I have one awards for my work and have been met by wonderful fans everywhere. I am truly blessed but seldom satisfied. That hunger is what keeps the creative wheels spinning.
