Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to James Lucas. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi James, thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump back to the first dollar you earned as a creative? What can you share with us about how it happened?
The first time Dear Banshee got paid was mind blowing. It was our first gig at amnesia in San Francisco’s mission district. It was only $50 but I will remember that forever.
James, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am James and I sing in the Bay Area band Dear Banshee. We have been active in the Bay Area since 2011. We make indie rock mixed with ambient and electronic music. We have just released our brand new album ‘Wake of Modern Life’ after our 2019 freshman album ‘Viva Guernica’
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Seeing people get an emotional response to our music. I think people have strong feelings when it comes to music and to see people experience those feelings to music that we create is very rewarding.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
It was very hard to get shows when we first started. I imagine it’s very hard for all new bands/artists. To see where we are now compared to 2018 is such a journey. We have been playing more shows and more people are listening to us.
