We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful James & Leeann. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with James & Leeann below.
James & Leeann, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?
Although we have regular jobs outside of being foodies, we have never been happier creating content on the side as well. It is nice to have an outlet outside of your daily routine and we get to put our heads together and bounce ideas off of each other.
We honestly have not given much thought on what it would look like to be full-time foodies because of how early we still are in the foodie space. If we were able to be compensated to the point where we can leave our full-time jobs, we would not be opposed to doing so. As of right now, we love what we do in our regular jobs, so there is no rush!
We really like to see when people ask us about our experiences at certain restaurants, AND we even have people who recommend restaurants to us as well (keep them coming! LOL). We literally started this page to highlight our experiences and sharing the food that comes along with it, and we hope to continue to create content as that is what adds onto our happiness :)
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
We are PartnersinFood (James and Leeann) and we began this page roughly 2 years ago as a highlight reel of our foodie escapades. The page was started because we both had the love for good food and was always eager to try different things. The thing that we are most proud of is we are able to be our most authentic selves when trying the food and not being afraid of critiquing it. Another thing we enjoy about being foodies is the LARGE community, and for the most part everyone has been friendly to us in the space. We also wanted to encourage people to take pictures/videos of their food because it is something that you can always look back on and reminisce (at least that is what we do).
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
We do not have a particular goal or mission except for trying new food spots and sharing our experience there. If notoriety or a following comes along with it that would be great, but we are not actively seeking that.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
We will say as 2 people working full-time jobs on top of being a creative is very difficult. There are times when we have to schedule a day to go out to restaurants and other places in order to gather content to post. Also, we need to ensure that we have enough content for posting and making sure that the food is pleasing!
Although this may seem like a lot, but if you are disciplined and determined to make it work, then it will!
