Delegation is key. Over time, I’ve built a team that I trust to keep the ship afloat while I’m away. They’re like my superhero sidekicks, always ready to swoop in and save the day. Clear communication is also crucial. I make sure everyone knows what’s up. It’s like leaving a note for your roommate: “Hey, I’m out for a bit, here’s the WiFi password and don’t forget to feed the cat.” Setting clear expectations means fewer surprises.
I also rely heavily on automation. Tools for project management, social media scheduling, and email automation are my best friends. It’s like having a robot butler handling all the boring stuff while I’m trying to relax. And just in case, my team knows how to reach me if things go south. It’s like having a bat signal—only to be used in true emergencies.
Even when I’m off, I check in at set times. Call it “business owner FOMO,” but I just can’t resist a quick peek to make sure everything’s running smoothly.
For fellow entrepreneurs, trust in your team is huge. Invest time in training them so you can step away without everything falling apart. It’s like teaching your kids to ride a bike—you’ve got to let go of the handlebars eventually. If the thought of a long vacation freaks you out, start with short breaks. Growing up, I was homeschooled, which gave me the unique opportunity to be constantly surrounded by my family, who exemplified a strong work ethic and dedication to their passions. When I launched Creative Flair, I began by identifying our target audience—artists, creatives, and art enthusiasts. Understanding who I wanted to reach helped shape the content and messaging. One of the first steps was to establish a consistent posting schedule. I committed to sharing content regularly, ensuring that the posts were both high quality and relevant. This included sharing artworks, behind-the-scenes glimpses, tips for artists, and inspirational quotes. The idea was to provide value consistently so that followers knew they could rely on us for engaging and inspiring content.
Engagement was key. I made a point to interact with followers by responding to comments, asking questions, and encouraging discussions. I also spent time engaging with other artists and art communities on social media, which helped increase visibility and foster connections. Given that our focus is on art, I knew the visual appeal of our posts had to be top-notch. I invested time in creating visually striking and cohesive content that reflected the brand’s aesthetic. Tools like Canva and Adobe Spark were incredibly useful for designing professional-looking posts.

When I launched Creative Flair, I was still in college, and it started as a passion project that I hoped would someday grow into something bigger. The real breakthrough happened during my first year at Goldsmiths University, where I study Fine Art and History of Art. Now, as I navigate my second year, balancing everything has been a true test of resilience.
One particularly challenging time was during a period when multiple deadlines converged. I had a significant project deadline for Creative Flair, a slew of lectures to attend, and several papers to write for my courses. On top of that, it was a busy period at the gymnastics gym where I coach three days a week. I remember one week where everything seemed to collide. It felt like I was being pulled in every direction, and there were moments I questioned whether I could handle it all.
Instead of giving in to the stress, I decided to approach the situation with a strategic mindset. I meticulously planned out each day, breaking down my tasks into manageable chunks. I prioritized my time, focusing on the most urgent and important tasks first. This often meant waking up at the crack of dawn to attend lectures, working on Creative Flair during breaks, and coaching gymnastics in the evenings. It was exhausting, but I kept reminding myself why I was doing all of this.
During this period, the support from my family and friends was invaluable. They encouraged me to keep going and reminded me of the bigger picture. There were many late nights and early mornings, and yes, a lot of coffee, but I managed to get through it. The project launch for Creative Flair was a success, my lectures and papers went well, and the gymnastics meet went smoothly.
This experience taught me a lot about resilience. It showed me that even when faced with seemingly insurmountable challenges, it’s possible to overcome them with careful planning, prioritization, and a strong support system. It reinforced the importance of resilience—not just the ability to keep going, but the ability to adapt, plan, and push through even when the going gets tough.
Looking back, I’m proud of how I handled that period. It was a testament to the resilience I’ve developed and a reminder that perseverance, even in the face of overwhelming odds, can lead to success. This resilience is something I carry with me in all aspects of my life and work, and it’s a core value I strive to instill in the Creative Flair community.
