We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jamell Paxton a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Jamell thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. The more we talk about good leadership the more we think good leadership practices will spread and so we’d love for you to tell us a story about the best boss you’ve had and what they were like or what they did that was so great?

MY BEST BOSS WAS CHRISTOPHER REED OF REEDS GINGER BREW A ENTREPRENEUR COMPANY. HE TAUGHT ME THE INS AND OUTS OF SELLING MARKETING AND I WAS APART OF THE TESM WHEN HE WENT PUBLIC TO THE STOCK MARKET

I AM JAMELL PAXTON OWNER AND CHEF AT MR TASTE BUDZ FOOD TRUCK AND EVENT CATERING. WE ARE BASED OUT OF SOUTH CENTRAL LOS ANGELES WHERE I WAS ALSO BORN AND RAISED. I STARTED MY BUSINESS IN 2019 AFTER BRING RELEASED FROM PRISON AFTER DOIN 3 1/2 yrs. I SPECIALIZE IN GOURMET INFATUATION FOODS. BASICALLY I CREATE DIFFERENT TYPES OF FOOD THAT YOU PROBALY CAN ONLY THINK OF MADE WITH SEASON LOVE AND CREATIVITY THEN I BRING THEM TO THE PUBLIC ON MY FOOD TRUCK.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

IVE ALWAYS GIVEN THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT GOOD QUALITY AND DELICIOUS FOOD. I GIVE BACK TO MY COMMUNITY VERY OFTEN SND MENTOR THE YOUTH. I AM THE DEFINITION OF WHAT CHANGING YOUR LIFE IS. I STARTED WITH NOTHING AND BUILT A BRAND WHICH MOST WHO KNOW THE STORY SUPPORT

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

MY MOST EFFECTIVE STRATEGY FOR GROWING AS OF TODAY HAS BEEN TO TREAT YOUR PEOPLE HOW YOU WANNA BE TREATED THEN A STEP BETTER! ALSO TO LISTEN TO YOUR PEOPLE THE CUSTOMER IS YOUR BEST ADVICE.
