We recently connected with Jamel Gibbs and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jamel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright, so one thing we think people don’t talk about nearly enough is investments – either time or money. What’s one of the best or worst investments you’ve made and what did you learned from the experience?
The best investment I’ve made was the first one. The reason for this is because I was broke and needed a way out.
This was the opportunity to create the “shut up” check. This check allowed me proof of concept that what I was doing actually worked.
Also, every time I’ve tried a different type of real estate investment strategy it created a turning point in my business which stabilized my business’ results and helped catapult my business to another level.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Back in 2008 the real estate market tanked. At the time I was rehabbing houses and had money invested. When the market tanked I was under water in my business.
So I needed to make a shift. I started buying properties via creative financing, and controlling houses via wholesaling for quick cash.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I started my YouTube channel back in 2008. I didn’t take it seriously. In 2019 I decided that I wanted to share more with the world in what was working for me. So I’ve consistently put out content every week since then.
What I’ve learned is there’s no magic formula to anything. You have to commit like any other business, put in the work, don’t compare yourself to others, stay in your own lane, give your audience your best stuff… and you’ll will grow.
