Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jameice Cockrell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Jameice , thanks for joining us today. How did you scale up? What were the strategies, tactics, meaningful moments, twists/turns, obstacles, mistakes along the way? We’d love to hear the backstory the illustrates how you grew your brand.
“Believing in God, yourself and knowing it is all possible is the first step.”- Jameice Cockrell
On my journey I have discovered lack of love from family, loss of job, homelessness, a lost of friends and relationships I gave my all to. Consistently pouring into others because I have always loved/wanted the best for everyone and wanted to help tell their story. I wanted to quit life due to the detriment caused by loved ones knowing that wasn’t an option I persevered through the chaos. My life had been threatened by the same people in my community I broke bread with which brought on an extreme amount of anxiety but through all of that I stand tall in entrepreneurship with a resume with companies such as Roc Nation, BET, WPGC 95.5, WHUTTV, Howard University, Shoe City, Sam’s Club, AMC, Laces To Bows Inc & many more. I chose to forgive and continue to love no matter the obstacles and I think through God, resilience, forgiveness, belief, drive, passion and most of all love you can do anything!
Jameice , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
“Your value is nothing if you cannot honor your word. If you do not mean what you say,” — Jameice Cockrell
The youth helped build my reputation, experience, skills, keeping my word, partnerships, and the desire to always want to be better! I truly believe we were all placed here to help one another in some way. That can only be done if we respect one another no matter age or experience and listen to the youth just as much as we expect the youth to listen to adults. All of these helped build my reputation but characteristics/morals is what allows me to attract and keep it. I value people and treat others with the respect I expect in return its simple beliefs such as this that can make major impact.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Rich Man Poor Dad By Robert T. Kiyosaki
“Financial struggle is often the result of people working all their lives for someone else.” “Often in the real world, it’s not the smart who get ahead, but the bold.” “Skills make you rich, not theories.” “The more I risk being rejected, the better my chances are of being accepted.”- Robert T. Kiyosaki
According to this book, money isn’t your greatest asset. ‘The single most powerful asset we all have is our mind. If it is trained well, it can create enormous wealth” says Kiyosaki. He believes that if people are prepared to be flexible, have an open mind, and learn, they tend to get richer.
“If something is built to show, it’s built to grow”- Jonah Berger
Contagious: How to Build Word of Mouth in the Digital Age By Jonah Berger
social currency, triggers, emotion, public, practical value and stories.
Contagious revealed to me the importance of product and sales! Why are some products and ideas talked about more than others Why do some articles make the most emailed list Why do some YouTube videos go viral Word- of-mouth. Whether through face-to-face conversations. emails from friends. or online product reviews. the information and opinions we get from others have a strong impact on our own behaviour. Indeed. word-of-mouth generates more than two times the sales of paid advertising and is the primary factor behind 20-50% of all purchasing decisions. It is between 8.5 and 30 times more effective than traditional media. I highly recommend.
These two books changed my entire thought process and pov.
