We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jamal Sharp a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jamal, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear the story of how you went from this being just an idea to making it into something real.
Going from idea to execution is easier said than done for sure. My business started off as a passion, as most peoples do. By All Means has been a phrase my brother and I indoctrinated at a young age and created a “group” with it. When I reached the business space and decided to start taking photos I named the business By All Means Creations. I did not want to be held into a certain place, yes I take photos, but I do a plethora of other things as well. A few businesses have grown from the named By All Means, the most prominent being “BAM Snoballs”, BAM means By All Means. So I say all this to say have a deeper meaning and deeper connection with your ideas, that will make execution that much easier.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Jamal Sharp and I am a businessman. Depending on where you met me and how you met me, you may know me for different things. My first business was By All Means Creations, which started in 2019 as a photography business now turned into production company and marketing agency. We provide high quality content for businesses as well as marketing services. You sometimes will hear people refer to us as The By All Means Company as well. After graduating from college (Florida A&M University) in fall 2020. I then went on to start a dessert shop business with my twin brother, by the name of BAM Snoballs. This is located in Pensacola FL with hopes of expansion to Dallas Tx, Las Vegas NV, and Charlotte NC very soon. My creative mind and heart for others has always set me apart from others in my industries. Community engagement and community service has always been big pillars when it came down to my businesses and brand. By All Means is a brand more than anything. We provide a lot of value in different areas, people who follow the journey get to see and understand the behind the scenes of what we do and how we do it. We love each and every supporter.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Funding your business can be difficult for sure. Building business credit is a big thing as well. Anyone who reads this reach out to me and I can send you a free business credit blueprint that will help you and teach you how to build business credit. (I am no financial coach but this has worked wonders for me and provided results). A lot of it is saving as well and spending more $$ on needs vs wants. A lot of times you will realize you have the money to start your business even if it is at a smaller scale. You just need to focus on it and stop spending on other things. Always remember to be patient, dont let social media or the progress of others hinder you. EVERYTHING takes time
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The goal or mission is to get BY ALL MEANS out to the world. By All Means literally means to you can do anything with the right mindset, determination and effort. By All Means embodies EVERYONE. Any opportunity is open for exploration. We do this between the creative process, community service, apparel, speaking engagements, anyway we can possibly get the message out, we do. We want people to understand anything is possible. We are living proof
