Jamaetra, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. One of our favorite things to brainstorm about with friends who’ve built something entrepreneurial is what they would do differently if they were to start over today. Surely, there are things you’ve learned that would allow you to do it over faster, more efficiently. We’d love to hear how you would go about setting things up if you were starting over today, knowing everything that you already know.
If I were starting over, I’d do a couple things differently. I would build my target audience before launching so that I’d be able to set up a strong marketing plan.
I would also do a lot more research about what it truly takes to run a business designed to turn a profit. That would make getting funding much easier.
Starting out was rough but I’m so glad to have made it this far on my journey!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into the beauty industry because I had an ex that would always tell me he wanted to date an Instagram model. I did everything I could to fit in that mold and the beauty industry just followed. I wish I could thank him for that push.
I now provide makeup services, loc services and sell concealer. I think my customer service sets my brand apart from others. I’m always going the extra mile for my clients and they love that.
I want my followers to know my journey is authentic. I’m doing all the hard work to be successful, so the popularity will come. They just have to stay on the journey with me!
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I built my audience by being genuine! I think beginners should just focus on posting consistently and staying focused. Social Media fame doesn’t come over night, so patience is key.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new client acquisition for me has been reviews and referrals from previous clients. This helps my new clients feel comfortable!
