We’re excited to introduce you to celebrity actor and model the always interesting and insightful Jamaal Lewis. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jamaal below.
Alright, Jamaal thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
You have to be willing to go the extra mile everyday no matter how you feel or what circumstances you’re facing.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Jamaal Lewis and I am a man of God first and foremost. I think in today’s day and age we need more people standing firm in thier faith and utilizing thier platforms to spread a positive message and outlook on life instead of the go to negative narrative. Being a man of God in my industry is very challenging and I have to overcome obstacles daily. By me being vocal about my faith I am not stating I am perfect rather admitting that I am far from it and need God in my life to guide my every footstep. I think it’s important to stay true to who you are and what you stand for no matter who, why, where when or how is coming at you. My journey is so much deeper than what is seen on a daily basis via my social media,in fact the important part of what I’m doing rarely even makes it to social media and that is my ministry.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Stay Blessed! That is my mission. My goal is not necessarily to be the most successful person in my industry but rather touch as many life’s in a positive way as possible. I want to use my platform to show anyone who is walking in thier purpose that nothing can stop you if you genuinely stay true to what you’re doing. It will get difficult, sometimes more difficult than comprehendable but that’s where the strength is gained.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I think it’s necessary to pivot everyday. When you stop pivoting is when you get comfortable, lazy and not driven. You have to continue to weed out the bad and plant new seeds daily.
