We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jamaad Mus a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jamaad, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?
I am happy as a creative because I can dream and create my ideas of a better world based on how I see it.
Having a regular job would be waking up in the early morning and submitting unto someone who already established their name.
It would be a nightmare waking up doing something you don’t like doing for years and still being considered just another employee they can replace the following day.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I started off as a simple artist experimenting with different styles of music. My favorite artist at the time of my upbringing was Masego. I started to establish my trap jazz style after receiving more positive feedback motivating me to keep going.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Give each artist a listening chance and disregard the mainstream artists.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I would like to bring my style of music to more artists. Inspiring them to be different. Embrace the oddity lifestyle.
