Jalynne, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
The year of 2020 was a defining moment for me. Like most individuals, covid 19 affected our social life, mental and physical health. Prior to the shut down I had already been researching natural remedies to anxiety and depression; such as essential oils, crystals the benefits of the sun and water around us I became so fascinated. Experiencing multiple jobs post college graduation; nothing seemed to be fulfilling and it felt every experience became even more traumatizing and my anxiety grew tremendously. For a long period of time I felt this is what I had become..fearful, anxious, and nothing like myself. I knew that I had a bigger purpose. The shut down allowed me to tune in completely. I had already been going to therapy for a few months to understand that a lot of my anxiety and depression was deeply rooted in my DNA. Later to realize my mother, father, and both grandmothers have been diagnosed with severe anxiety and depression. Then it clicked for me..I did not want to be a product of everyone else’s pain; even mine. I knew there was a way for us to heal or even cope naturally and healthily.
Diving into the knowledge of essential oils and the benefits of inhalation and application from these natural oils that have been around for decades to cure and treat multiple illnesses such as anxiety, depression, ptsd, insomnia, blood pressure and even cancer symptoms. Developing different skin care products that include these essential oils to help not only me, but others have a more emotional balanced day. From skin care, aromatherapy and crystal jewelry by business started to take off. Individuals love how pure and natural the products are and how intentional they are being home made. I love everything about them; but then something else clicked to me. I knew there was so much more healing that needed to be done. Deeper soul work. Started learning more tools such as yoga and meditation.
We have so much power to heal ourselves naturally. To cope and to release the burdens, emotions and traumas that hold us back from being our best selves. It is our responsibility. My drive and soul purpose is to bring others back to their soul. I have witnessed so many individuals lose themselves in careers, parenting, marriage, obstacles, ptsd and so much more the world has become extremely painful. The world has so much suffering but there is also a lot of overcoming from it, and that’s what i’m here to do.
Rather it be natural remedies such as aromatherapy, crystals & holistic care; to deep inner work. I want to help bring you back to your soul. We deserve so much peace, love and inner happiness.

Hello beautiful soul! My name is Jay Christine, and I am the founder and creator of Melanin Sol Beauty llc. Melanin Sol Beauty is not just a brand, it is a lifestyle. Yoga is your opportunity for growth and awakening. Along with meditation it heightens your awareness and brings you closer to your soul. Paired with aromatherapy and crystals; the inner peace is priceless. And we all deserve it.
I have been teaching yoga for almost two years and have been practicing for about three. The transformation I am witnessing within myself only drives me to help everyone else. I am 28 years old and in my lifetime I have experienced every act of abuse you can think of, my parents divorced when I was seven years old and I am the oldest of six children. I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression back in 2019, I am black woman, married to a black woman and I am under 5ft tall. There are so many challenges that has came my way; so much hurt, pain and trauma that even at this age I no longer wanted to be a victim. I wanted to walk in my power. I wanted to turn my pain into praise. And I want to help so many get there. To get to a point to inner happiness and self love; I’m just providing the tools, the education and the love.
What sets me apart from others is that this is something I would absolutely do for free. So much joy fills my heart when I am teaching a session, leading meditation or even creating a product. I know I am healing someone else, as myself. I know I am being driven by a higher force. Love is my drive, not money and navigating in a world so financially driven has not been easy but I am trusting God, and the process. Applying and utilizing my products and practices allows me to be the best advocate for the lifestyle. Life is about the journey, not the destination; I just want to help make the journey worthwhile.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
There are two books that have significantly impacted my management and entrepreneurial thinking. There are multiple learning materials I have dove into regarding my craft such as crystal and aromatherapy books and even some astrology books have helped me be more intentional about the products. Aside from those two books that completely changed my way of thinking were, “Becoming Supernatural” by Joe Dispenza. As well as, “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.” by Deepak Chopra. The titles alone can probably give you a pretty good idea on the impact. I will always recommend this books not only to other entrepreneurs but to those who want to understand that we are spiritual beings living a human experience and wanting to navigate in the world as such. Beautiful reads, 1000% recommend.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective way for growing my clientele has currently been social media. It has been an effective way to get information out to my target audience. Sharing benefits of the self care tools we offer always keeps the people engaged and wanting more. Something I have learned is to always promote the problem you solve, not the product you sale. As well as practicing what you preach. I don’t love the products because I sell them. It’s simple. I sell them because I love them. We teach by demonstration, by honesty and the facts. Most importantly, all love.
