We were lucky to catch up with Jalisa Mosby recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jalisa, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I knew first I wanted to pursue a creative and artistic path professionally when i discovered my gifts and talents could allow me to help others and impact my future as an entrepreneur. Taking classes in high school opened my horizons to a career path in Beauty. I carried my education into adulthood and self taught all there was to know to start my business as a Beauty Enthuasist.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hello to all who know me already and those who are just now being introduced to me. I am originally from Conway, Arkansas now living in Los Angeles CA. I have always had an interest in entertainment and beauty as a young girl. From playing the flute for 7 years in my school band, participating in statewide pageants, choreographing dances and putting on talent shows for my family. My passion found me after moving to California from Texas. In 2014 i packed my Malibu and drove over 1200 miles to my new home here in LA. I quickly realized my talent in makeup artistry was in demand. I branded myself as the Red Carpet Glam artist. I established my artistry business ‘’JS Artistry’’ along with an Eyelash Extension Company ‘’Shady Lashes’’ in 2017.
Shortly after i began doing makeup professionally for Film & Television. What sets me apart from others is my ability to connect and build a motivational relationship with my clients and others i meet. I now create and produce beauty content called ‘’Makeup With A message’’ on my social platforms. This content is not only fueled with passion teaching the latest techniques and tips for makeup application but also touched with positive energy and inspiration.
I am most proud of my perseverance in hard times. Like not knowing what i am supposed to be doing with my life or knowing the purpose behind the passion. The main things i want readers, potential clients, fans etc. to know and remember is the success is never given to us. We must believe the success is ours but also go after it. I want people watching to know that faith in your purpose will MAKE room for us. We dont have to know all the whys or the when’s. We only need to know that it’s already ours and hard work will get you to where you’re supposed to be. Hard work is not just being productive but it’s believing in the outcome without seeing it right away. I want readers to know the only way to the destination is to keep going no matter what it looks like.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Society has the option everyday to support artists and creatives. A share, comment, like is great but word of mouth is the best way to really support. Sharing information with others helps more than you know.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My mission for this creative journey im on is to take it day by day. Not to get ahead of myself. Each day is an opportunity to impact someone. Even if it’s just one person. Daily goals equal the larger goal.
