We recently connected with Jalisa Hardy and have shared our conversation below.
Jalisa, appreciate you joining us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
There were a lot of things that my parents did wrong which is what we often focus on in relationships, so I love this question that reminds me that there are things that we do right and that we do not so right. The things that my parents did right were raise me in church but taught me about having a relationship with God for myself. My mom in particular showed me the power of faith and belief in God. No matter how hard things got she never gave up or walked away from her relationship with God. My father taught me the value in hard work and providing for his family as a man no matter where life might take you. He worked a hard and dirty job until his body physically told him that it was time to retire. My mom taught me how to be transparent and honest even when it is hard or may cause issues in a relationship. She has always been a very honest and transparent person. Another thing they taught me was how to live in community and give to those that are less fortunate than we are. Thinking about it and writing about it my parents did a lot of things right. I’m very grateful for this question and the opportunity to really think about my parents and things that they’ve done right that made me the person that I am today. I am honest, transparent, believe in work and do all I can to provide for my children and I as a single mom of 3 children, have a strong relationship with God, am generous, and have an amazing community and support system around me that has continued to help me to become better and better every day.

Jalisa, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am constantly evolving and learning about myself. The person I am even today isn’t who I was yesterday. I am a child of Yahua (God) first and foremost. I came here with a huge mission and purpose to impact the world one relationship at a time. I’m also a single mom of 3 who are currently 4, 3, and 1 after recently getting out of an abusive marriage as of August 2023. I’m a survivor that is on my way to thriving in every way. My desire is for everyone to thrive and not just get by or survive. I have been known as The Holistic Health Plug for 3-4 years now and have recently started the process of rebranding as The Golden Child. That came from my origin story of being diagnosed with down syndrome and then finding out that I was to be born without a stomach and my esophagus and windpipe were fused together. The nurse told her the “best option” was for her to get an abortion. She had never made it to a full-term pregnancy and that was important for me with my diagnosis. If she were to make it full term with me they told her that I would need multiple different surgeries to have a chance at making it. My mom decided that God had the final say. Not long after her appointment she went to a revival and had them pray over us. She said the only thing she remembers is feeling like she was lifted off of her feet and that God was pouring gold into her stomach. After this encounter, she went back to the doctor and they couldn’t find anything wrong with me. Knowing this story as my origin story gave me a foundation of faith in miracles, signs and wonders. That is where The Golden Child came from. It gave me that faith but also the gift of healing. I do that through prayer, healing touch, my voice whether speaking or singing, and more.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy I have found for growing your clientele is building genuine relationships without the expectation of getting something but seeking to serve. Showing up as your most authentic self and being aware of the inner work that you get to do. The relationship that you have with yourself will reflect in your business and the relationships you have with your clients and potential clients.
Well, you know what actually the most effective strategy for growing your clientele is following your inner authority. Your inner authority is what it is called in Human Design but it is in all actuality the way that you best hear from God and are guided to the next step in your business. When you are present to that inner guidance you are able to grow your clientele with ease.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One lesson that I had to unlearn was following the blueprint or guidance of others without being in-tune with my own blueprint and inner voice. I spent a lot of time trying to learn step by step guides, how to’s, and doing things like the gurus. In the end I found myself more lost and confused. I was torn between all the different ideologies and perspectives of what others thought was best for me. My relationship with God and more recently Human Design have led me back to myself. Even though the title of my book is “It’s All in Me!” I still didn’t see just how powerful and capable I was to achieve all that I desired to achieve. I started my first official business at the age of 18. It was a network marketing business in the health and wellness industry. In network marketing that are systems and norms for how to build your business like making a list and calling all of them to introduce them to a new opportunity. It only worked for a short time before the energy and motivation I had behind it wore off and I quit. Now knowing my Human Design I realized by design this business model does not work for me. Now, I am able to say no to opportunities because I know that they do not align with my design or my inner guide.
