We were lucky to catch up with Jalen Ray recently and have shared our conversation below.

Jalen, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.

One of the biggest risk I’ve ever taken is moving to Atlanta. If it weren’t for me moving, I don’t believe I would’ve gained the courage to follow my dreams. I’m from a small town and my confidence was not where it is now. When I moved to Atlanta I made certain connections that got me in the right rooms which influenced me to go after my dreams.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I am an actor and podcaster. I have acted on shows like American Soul, Star, & BMF. I also have a podcast called Sip&Chat where I interview different influences and reality stars. We have fun dialogue and the episodes are usually based on who the guest is. Some of the guest that I’ve had are Judi Jai, Mama Vette, Sarah Oliver, Erica Dixon, Larissa “Bootz” Hodge, & Shod Santiago! Sip&Chat has been featured on radio and many social media blogs.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a creative is seeing my vision come to life. I always plan out anything I do before actually doing it. I put a lot of thought and effort into my projects. I am a big believer of quality over quantity. So seeing my visions come to life and seeing how many people enjoy it really makes me happy.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

I’ve always just tried to stay as consistent as I can. I would join lives and interact with people on social media as much as I can just to try to remain a familiar face.
