Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jalen Justice. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jalen , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you have an agent or someone (or a team) that helps you secure opportunities and compensation for your creative work? How did you meet you, why did you decide to work with them, why do you think they decided to work with you?
I currently have 2 agents: Clear talent group Los Angeles and Marla Del agency in San Francisco. I met my clear talent agents when I was 17. I randomly went to an in person audition after taking pictures in my back yard and hearing the auditions were coming up the next day. I gave it my all and remember feeling really pleased with my audition being that I was Xin the last group of boys out of 500 men. I got signed the net week. I met myMarla del agents in 2021 when I was on the road working with Daddy Yankee. At that point id been working more and had better photos, confidence, and ability to submit to an agency for acting and modeling, so I submitted, did my monologue in a zoom interview answered a few questions and I was signed. I Learned so much much in the years in between both signings and I’m still learning until this day after being signed for 8 years with CTG and 2 years with MDT.
I decided to work with Clear Talent Group because from day one they were understanding that I was new to the environment and was learning at my own pace, they always make me feel ok about my journey and being able to change my direction here and there, whether I want to act now or try some modeling opportunities, also they never dropped me when I moved back. to northern California which made me feel more appreciative and even more willing to travel back and forth from Norcal to los Angeles. I decided on Marla Del agency because I saw more people of color signed to them as well as job opportunities I felt I could fit into on their site. I felt like they would see my potential. I think both agencyies seen not only my natural talent and abilities, but also my fire. they both have given me opportunities I even thought were father then me and in return gave me things to look forward to and to work toward. Most agents love a confident artists who. is willing to be a student and never give-up.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I Grew up. dancing in Sacramento I learned from many legends in Sacramento , like pepper conn, tee sandier, venitia James, Paula Shelby, Terry Moore, and more. I learned to never gives up on my individual goal and to work hard for everything I want with humility. As I trained I climbed the latter of kill and experience and eventually went on to the Bay Area scene and joined a team called Chapkis Dance, where I was able to travel and get many experiences onto my resume. it was while I was training that I attempted to get signed and succeeded. I am most proud of the fact I traveled out of the country to teach several times and now have my own training program and annual shows I direct with youth and young adults in my home town, bringing back all the knowledge and experience I have to push the next generation to go even further.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I was fired from 7+ jobs in fighting to continue on my artists journey 3 Times as a teen and 4 as an adult, I was also homeless for a year while continuing to work and teach in studios ad dance programs all over California. Those falls in life really showed me what I was capable of with absolutely nothing going for me. I learned I didn’t need accomplishments or stature or anything to still leave my mark on people and positively encourage them and myself to keep going. I almost broke towed the end but each job loss brought me to another opportunity to do what I love instead. it pushed back on track once I looked at the bigger picture.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I want to represent all the positive black male and female leaders and mentors I had in my life growing up. their representation and impact on my life lasted forever and showed me the options I had in life and stirred me int right direction toward believing in myself and developing into a leader in every aspect of my life. Each generation has their influences and mine were directly in front of me. I hope to be the same for the young adults and youth I train and encounter.
