We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jake IV Lambert a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jake IV, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
One of the risks I have taken is changing my photography business into a content creation business. I chose to change my business from photography to content creation. Everyone nearby is working in photography but with that said I don’t know anyone in my circle managing the people who create a constant for people who do photo, video, and social media work. So my idea was to change my photography business into a coaching creation business and having a few clients to start it off including creating a podcast in the midst of it has been one of the riskiest moves I can ever think of. Still, as of right now everything is moving very smoothly, especially with the way to push content out a lot faster.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
The way that I got into the content creation management business is because I decided to step out of the norm and want to create something different. This allows me to not only help people with their photography, and videography, but this also allows me to help Patriots and clients and creators but whatever they need and the mister working on another person’s project or project on my own. The thing that I’m most proud about is adjusting to change within the company structure and starting from scratch and reinventing myself in a whole new way while helping out people that not only need the help but also want to help. One of the most important things that I’m proud of is the podcast that I started and manage with the help of my executive producer and the team behind us call sneakers and stogies.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
The story that illustrates my resilience is explaining that I have had two mental breakdowns while finished grad school and continued doing my entire business in the midst of it it’s slowed down my graduation and allowed me to focus on separating not only grad school and my business but also my personal life and my business as well especially after dealing with a more recent mental break down and losing all my files and deciding to keep going after I lost those files which is the hardest thing for a creator or somebody that manages creators to deal with.

How’d you meet your business partner?
The best way I can explain how I met my co-founder/business partner is because they have helped me not only with the show but any other projects I have going on. We all went to TSU (Texas Southern University) two of them happened to be my line brothers in the fraternity of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and my executive producer happens to be one of my former coworkers that ended up graduating in radio television and film and then getting a masters in social media management and we ended up coming together during the pandemic and making sure that everybody has a platform to speak on while creating not only sneakers and stogies but also their individual projects as well.
