We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jake Hull. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jake below.
Alright, Jake thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
I came up with the idea for my creative services business because I realized I was just as passionate about building the vision behind a shoot as I was about taking the actual photos and videos. I love the process of turning an idea into a fully coordinated creative project.
For me, it starts with building mood boards on Pinterest and creating a clear visual direction so everyone — models, stylists, hair and makeup artists, and collaborators — are aligned on the same aesthetic and feeling. From there, I coordinate everything from reaching out to modeling agencies and talent to organizing locations and creative details.
What made me realize this could become a real business was seeing how naturally I could bring people and ideas together into something polished, cinematic, and intentional. I genuinely enjoy the collaboration, problem solving, and storytelling that happens behind the scenes to make a creative vision come to life.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a creative director, photographer, and content producer who focuses on building elevated, visually intentional content for brands and personal brands. I originally got into the industry through photography, but quickly realized I was most passionate about the creative direction behind a shoot — developing concepts, building mood boards, coordinating talent and styling, and bringing an entire vision to life.
My work includes everything from content production and branding shoots to coordinating models, hair and makeup artists, stylists, and locations to create cohesive, cinematic visuals. What sets me apart is my focus on both storytelling and strategy. I want the content to not only look beautiful, but also feel emotionally engaging and memorable.
I’m most proud of my ability to take an idea from inspiration to execution and create work that feels polished, collaborative, and intentional from start to finish.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to continue growing by working with brands of all sizes and continuing to push myself creatively with larger and more ambitious projects. I want to keep building visually elevated content that helps brands tell stronger stories and create a more emotional connection with their audience.
Long term, one of my biggest goals is to eventually work for or alongside a Fortune 500 company in a creative direction or brand storytelling role. I would also love to direct my first major branding film — something cinematic and emotionally driven that combines visual storytelling, strategy, and high-level production into one cohesive project.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I’ve been told “no” more times than I can count throughout my creative journey, whether that was from businesses, potential collaborators, or opportunities I really believed in. But one thing I’ve learned is that “no” usually just means I haven’t found the right person, brand, or timing yet.
I’ve continued pursuing my ideas anyway by reaching out to creatives, businesses, and people I admire, even when it felt intimidating. Some opportunities came from simply being willing to pitch an idea, start a conversation, or put my work out there before I felt fully ready.
One thing I genuinely love about myself is my resilience. Whether it’s personal or professional, I keep moving forward. I’ve learned that persistence, consistency, and believing in your vision can take you much further than waiting for permission or perfect circumstances.
