We recently connected with Jaize Hudson and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaize , thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

Hey thank you for having me my name is Jaize Hudson for those who don’t know and I am the CEO of Savon the Fragrance Line, Savon’s Selection my wig company and Thorough Thoughts a tv series in the making that will help people of all ages heal from childhood trauma. I graduated high school in 2020 which was the very start of Covid and went to Cleveland State University to pursue a degree in business and marketing. Going to college during Covid took a major toll on me that I wasn’t really prepared for because I was always a straight A student in school. I never really had to try hard so when I got to college and struggled it put a major weight on my shoulders. I was already battling with the depression from my senior year ending so abruptly and not being able to go to prom or have a real graduation. I believe it was during this trying time in my life that God started to change me and my mindset. I had no other option but to trust in God because I saw quickly that College wasn’t something that I saw myself continuing to do. I couldn’t be myself, I was stuck in a dorm 24/7 due to Covid and I had no friends on campus. I never even got to meet any of my professors in person. It was a huge reality check when I started to lose my spark for life everyday as I sat in my room alone. My mind would start to wonder about all the possibilities in this world and how I could reach the top by doing something different. Growing up, I was always known for keeping my hair done and being a girly girl. I love smelling good, I love looking pretty and taking pictures. God started to open my mind to new creative ideas in those lonely times and I believe it was the inspiration from being so fed up with the way I was living that made me create my own path. The scent of people which lingers after they leave always caught my attention and I believe that scents and smells are a way of creative expression. I love being able to talk without saying a word. Energy is everything to me and I could describe a person or a time in life based of a smell. God began to show up in my life like never before when I made the decision to dropout after my first year. I went against every wish of my parents and family to follow the call that God had on my life. I knew it would work because I’ve never seen anybody do it before. Before embarking on my spiritual Journey and becoming one with God, I would’ve feared being different and doubted if I could really pull it off due to my lack of confidence in myself and my ideas but since giving myself to God and letting him take control I know that every idea God gives me will become bigger than I could ever imagine. I started working on myself during this process of self discovery and lost 100 pounds naturally. That’s something that many people do not know about me. I starting loving myself like never before and gained a confidence only God could give. I knew it was on me to make it out since I was already being doubted by the world. I lost so many people I loved, friends, family and even my old self during the process. Nobody ever knew the unbearable pain I was facing while undergoing this transition but it yielded the best Jaize ever and took me to the highest of elevation. Since I was young, I saw my middle name Savon being worldwide. I knew my mom did not give me this unique, one of a kind name for no reason. I knew I would be famous for something one day and when I had no other way to turn, those dreams came back and God instilled a fire in me to enjoy my life while still being successful in all endeavors. Savon’s Selection was birthed in my dorm alone, I started buying wigs and installing them on myself, getting pretty and posting. I started to build my social media platform all at once. I never seen an all natural fragrance line also as well so I knew my idea was unique and worthy of being one of the biggest brands to come. My idea to change society through healing and beauty made me so excited because I know that this world needs a desperate change in a way we’ve never seen before and I can just see all the possibilities of growth for humanity. I love that my businesses flow together and help increase self love through feeling and smelling beautifully. I love seeing others take risk and love themselves in a world were they tell us the standard of success and beauty. I’m here to break those standards and create my own rules. To free people from the stress of limits that don’t even exist. I pray that by me stepping out on faith and letting God lead my businesses through the ups and downs, people see that anything is achievable if you just have faith and believe in yourself. No matter what the world tells you, you have to know that if it was easy everybody would do it. I’ve been a rebel since I was young, always been called unruly and hardheaded. I believe it was these traits that have taken me this far. I was forced to submit as a child but now that I’m older I have no rules or limitations, I’m coming back for everything I ever wanted. Never let society tell you what you can and cannot do because we are born into a world that wants to keep you in line doing exactly what everybody else is doing. Nobody has ever been in your shoes and just because it didn’t work out for one person doesn’t mean that will be your portion. Let your creativity shine. It was all the no’s and the shut doors that made me vow to never quit. Just remember, it only takes one yes and all the no’s previous mean nothing. This is only the beginning of my journey as a CEO and Child of the Most High God. Let Yahweh lead you and order your steps in your business. Don’t look at others in comparison focus on your lane and watch what God does. Trust me that’s how I’ve made it this far and will make it to every achievement and success to come.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is Jaize Hudson, a 21 year old Ceo/ model and social media influencer. I own a wig company, fragrance line and starting my new business right now as we speak. I got into the beauty industry in highschool when I started to do my own hair because I loved changing my hair so much. My mom was so tired of me getting my hair done then wanting a new hairstyle lol. She made it very clear during my high school career that she was no longer going to be getting my hair done every week and looking back I thank her for that because it forced me to start being creative with my hair because I was going to make sure my hair was always done lol. During Covid after my first year of college, I dropped out and started making custom units after practicing on myself for a long time. It turned out that I really did have a passion for changing looks frequently and wigs were the perfect fit for me. I loved that I could look one way and then the next day look completely different if I changed my hairstyle. While working on the wigs, I dropped my first scent to my Fragrance Line “Savon” in August of 2022 after working on it for months. I always loved to smell good and I knew that I could create beautiful smells. I was not expecting the amount of love and support that I received and really only planned to drop a couple scents but due to all the support I decided to make my middle name a whole fragrance Line. I am also Vegetarian going vegan and I have been for a whole year now. I’m a model, influencer and even dream of becoming a real painter very soon. On the side, I also write poetry that I’m getting ready to release soon as well. I really will be the woman who does it all, the jack of all trades. I believe that my businesses have no choice but to prosper because I solve the problem of women sitting in the hairdresser all day paying for a style that may last 2 weeks max because if you invest in a $400 wig from me, with proper care you have a hairstyle for 2+ years with proper maintenance that you can change when you want. My fragrance line stands out because I will have a very diverse set of smells for men and women while using all natural products. All customers are protected while wearing my scent because it’s all natural and long lasting. I want the world and all potential customers to know that I care for the well-being of anybody who trusts me enough to support my brand and spend their money with me. I appreciate every form of feedback and vow to make my brands helpful to this world. The world will know about me and every brand I create. This is only the beginning of where I’m headed and I’m so grateful to show my process to the world.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

The most effective strategy that I’ve used for growing my clientele is knowing my target audience and being myself. I know it sounds simple but if you really sit and examine your business, you’ll be able to see what type of people you are really trying to reach. Once I did that it was clear how to get their attention because now I Know I’m reaching for women in their 20/30’s who upkeep themselves and love self care. Knowing yourself as a CEO and being authentic has gotten me more clients than anything. People need to be able to trust your word when spending money with you and if you don’t know what you’re talking about they won’t trust your products. My businesses are based on who I truly am as a person so it was easy for me to relate to people who were interested in my products. Know yourself and know your business, everything else will follow.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

Becoming a CEO as a fresh college dropout was nowhere near easy. I had no investors and no guidance on where to begin. So many days I had to draw willpower from God just to keep my faith in running my businesses. I remember when I first start making wigs, I didn’t have enough money to buy a sewing machine at the time and I had two people who asked me to make them a wig in the same day. Knowing that by hand, sewing a wig would’ve took me 6+ hours because I was still a beginner, I decided to hand sew both wigs in the same day. I started the wigs at 9 am and did not complete both until 10:30 pm. My fingers were cramping and bleeding due to poking myself with the needles and my back was a lot pain from standing up. I knew that I had a job to complete and I wasn’t going to let my circumstances stop me from my passion. Although I wanted to give up every hour, when I finished and saw what I created, it was all worth it. Both custom wigs fit great on my customers and they even commented on how neat the stitching was on their wigs. From that day forward I went from believing that I couldn’t make wigs from scratch to doing 2+ a day anytime I needed to. So many times, I didn’t have the necessary tools for my business but I never let that stop me or make me want to quit. It’s all the adversity that made me relentless in my calling and that’s why I’ll forever win.
