Alright, JaiNishia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
I was on vacation flying to Hawaii for the very first time to celebrate and was thinking about how I could create the business name. I just close my eyes before we got off the plane and Love and Happiness sanctuary popped up and the rest was history.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
When I first started my company, it was based on a solution that I need it personally. After about a year and a half of being ill, I went to the doctor and was officially diagnosed with PCOS. During my treatment, my dietitian, dermatologist, and doctor advised me that I needed to remove all of the toxic products from my home so that they would not affect my immune system anymore. They were not allowed to clean beauty brands that specialize in candles, which is what I loved to light after a hard, stressful day at work so I created it.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
I started my company with under $500 while pivoting careers. Over the past four years, we’ve been able to obtain an additional $ 4000 in grants, capital, and podcast income combined.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I have been on social media since the early stages of 2007, really just sharing my love for the beauty industry, skincare, and travel tips. So it was naturally easy for me to be able to create a brand and use it in my everyday life and have my clients and or community love and support my brand organically.
