We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jaimie Wooten a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jaimie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I believe that in today’s economy, everyone should be able to afford a piece of art or give the gift of handmade without breaking the bank. I believe in giving more than taking, especially during the holidays. I’m a fiber artist that specializes in horror related amigurumi and alternative clothing and accessories, but I also venture into whatever custom order my clients desire within reasonable cost.
I love to crochet, it’s been a passion of mine since a young age. I get joy seeing people’s faces light up when receiving one of my items which makes this all so rewarding to me whether I make a profit or not.

Jaimie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I make affordable art, wearable art, and huggable art. I incorporate many different mixed medias into each piece. My heart and soul goes into every project.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
My biggest motto for social media is to be patient and BE KIND.

We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process.
I taught myself how to crochet, I strive to make something new every day and crochet everyday. I have never taken a break as I am always learning to create better.
