We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jaimi Alexander. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jaimi below.
Jaimi, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.
What I love about entrepreneurship most is the creative ability to make my offerings my own.
I have gone through a lot when it comes to depression, Heartbreak, adversity, rejection and pulling myself out of dark places.
Being that I have lived many different places, including out of the country, made a living interviewing hundreds and hundreds maybe thousands of people at this point and not being shy about how I go about life, it has given me a wellspring of real life experiences that you absolutely could never get in a book.
Quite a few of my clients were not getting the results they needed in therapy.
Some of them were even leaving therapy more sad, drained and heavy than when they began their sessions.
I know therapy works for some people, it is a very familiar practice to most these days, but for the people that did not feel like they were getting what they need out of it, it brought joy to me that a method I personally designed through a ton of life experience, has been packaged and is being delivered in a way that leaves my clients excited, shifted and looking forward to our next sessions!
Some people prefer college graduates, licensed therapist and medical professionals to assist them. Which is a norm.
I am none of those things, but what I have created is tried true and proven to be extremely effective!
One of my clients shared that they have participated in talk therapy for years, EMDR, psychedelics and other forms of therapies and within the first two sessions with me, they had received more value from that, than they have ever gotten with any other modalities.
The proof is in the pudding over here!
I take pride in that and I love knowing that my pain is being used for miraculous purpose!
Jaimi, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Over the last 15 years, I’ve really put in the deep work, effort, study, understanding and integration of healing, growth and evolving be on who I’ve known myself to be.
At the top of the year, I heard the word in my spirit to “share what you know”.
So I created the S.A.S.S.Y. Method!
Which is an acronym for:
Self Love and Mastery
Accountability and Alignment
Spiritual Wellness
Supplanted
Your Why
After developing the S.A.S.S.Y. Method and having my first two clients, I realized how extraordinarily powerful my unique ability to put together and relay transformative information really was.
Being an on camera host, living in Japan, interviewing lots of celebrities and entrepreneurs, hosting tech shows here and overseas, putting on endless events and sister circles has helped me a lot with relating to people from all walks of life.
I saw things click in the minds of my clients in a way that they have never experienced before!
I mean the onslaught of ‘aha moments’ is nothing I could ever put into words.
I help my clients get to the root of their issues and pull them out so we can replace it with something that works and puts them on a path headed in the direction they actually want to go instead of being victims to their previous habitual behavior.
The spiritual meaning of my name, Jaimi, means “Supplanted” which is the third S of the S.A.S.S.Y method. By definition it means to supersede and replace. This method is very reflective of who I am genuinely as a person.
This is not just what I do, it’s who I am and that’s what sets me apart.
People already have everything they need within them but they can’t see it. Until I come in, shine the light and lead them back home to the truest parts of themselves.
That’s why my tag line is “I help women live out their main character energy!”
If there is one thing I took from Hollywood after modeling, music videos, training in Acting and several auditions that often times felt like nothing but rejection it’s: We are the stars of our own show in this life
There’s no better gift you can give yourself or anyone around you than self-awareness, self love, accountability, and the REAL YOU!
My method works in a very personalized manner so you are always just being a more aligned version of yourself. That’s what the world needs. You.
In my program you’re going to do the work. I am the daughter of a 20 year retired Marine. What would you expect? LOL
I’m extremely practical and logical.
It’s not about feelings and venting. That’s part of it, but you are going to walk away from my method with actionable tools!
To me I am a world changer simply based off the butterfly effect.
If I can shift one person towards their highest self, more joy, happiness and freedom there will be a ripple effect of that that goes out into the world and continues to bless beyond what I’m even privy to.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I honestly feel like resilience is my middle name.
You have to be flexible in this life. You have to be able to bounce back!
For a particular part of my journey, I lived in New York City. Nothing will grow you up like moving to the Big Apple. The concrete jungle where dreams are made of. A. Keys certainly said it best!
Now before I share this, it was not all bad. I have met and worked with some of the most solid, incredible souls that have become lifelong friends. NYC had LOTS of ups!
But the downs…
At one point, I was dating someone I should not have been dating, I was living amongst a crowd that was not in alignment with my values, I was quickly running out of cash cuz it’s expensive and found myself one day unfortunately locked out of the apartment I shared with my roommates.
One of them felt slighted by hearsay, changed the locks and everything I had owned at the time was in the lobby of the complex. Way harsh, I know.
To add insult to injury, I was essentially being harassed online by this same man so obnoxiously that the district attorney had to come up with a new way to file a sort of restraining order for someone being harassed online. This was new at the time. The whole cyber bullying thing.
I have been through some stuff in my life so when I tell you in the midst of all this I was able to stay calm, cool, collected and connected to the angels in my life… thinking back on it, I shocked myself.
I guess when you are in a certain level of survival mode you do not have time to get emotional.
Two weeks after that I made my way back to the best coast, the west coast. Stayed with my beautiful mommy and sister just so I could recuperate my soul lol I needed to regroup to say the least and I did most of it in the gym!
Just to give you some backstory, I moved to New York by myself and stayed for three years. A wild ride that will provide plenty stories for another day.
I am resilient because there is not a single thing that can take me out! I am well equipped to handle any and everything life throws at me whether it is hard or not. I don’t care. I will always win and that is something I will never take away from myself.
I got into the best shape of my life, got a great job, was offered two raises and a promotion, got my new apartment, and started a brunch series that ran at different restaurants all over Los Angeles every third Sunday for five years!
I became a host on AfterBuzzTV and Pop Fuzion TV and continued to thrive when I could’ve felt like a victim who lost it all.
Some people thought I was going to crumble, fold or that they had the power to take me out. No. Never.
This is just one story, but life is not always easy. Resilience will be your best friend!
Your mindset when you go into things or grow through things will literally make or break you.
Commit to thriving no matter the situation, pivot when you need to and know in the deepest parts of you that every single thing happens for your greater good. Hold onto that mindset for dear life.
Could you imagine if I would have reacted to that situation in a different way. Out of fear. Out of revenge. Out of needing to prove a point. Anything but in my power?! It could’ve gone left really really quickly.
You always have a choice to choose the greatness within you.
Shout out to God, my parents, my family and friends!
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
When I got out of high school I chose to get into the real estate and mortgage industry. I got licensed quickly and sold my first house around 19 years old.
I was always extremely determined to do great and at this time I hadn’t really known failure and loss. I was a blue ribbon runner, spelling bee champion, popular at school and overall “that girl”!
Then the market crashed.
My fiancé at the time and I broke up, I had to give my dog to a friend because I lost my place and I ran out of money because I always thought it was going to come.
I went from having it all, to feeling like I had nothing and sleeping on an air mattress in my parents living room with no career to go back to at the time.
There is a little story of pivot and resilience in here, but since we are talking about unlearning, this whole situation shined light on the fact that I equated my worth and value to what I had and what I did.
You almost don’t even know you’re doing that until you lose it all.
When I lost it all I felt like I was nothing.
But baby I’m always going to be everything with nothing on the outside of me or everything on the outside of me.
We are taught in this day and age we need to look a certain way, celebrities annd influencers are so cool, having money and status is the thing to do.
But it is absolutely not everything!
Actually that stuff is a very small part of the totality of who you are.
Is it great to do well for yourself?
Of course!
Is it the absolute end all be all in every season and every situation?
No it is not and that is what I had to unlearn,
Learning this lesson is part of what gave me an extraordinary ability to pivot but never lose Hope or diminish the value of myself in the face of adversity.
