We were lucky to catch up with Jaime Taets recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jaime, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Keystone’s mission has been core to how we have built the business over the past 10 years. We are driven to create organizational impact at the human level. Why it’s meaningful us is that as a strategy firm, we help our clients see beyond the need for strategy and help them understand more holistic view of growth that incorporates the strength of their leadership capabilities and helping them assess where they need to evolve as leaders to drive a human centered approach that creates belonging. We also help them see where their culture could be improved to support the growth and transformation they aspire to create.
So, through our mission driven work, we believe we are helping businesses balance the business needs and the human needs in a way that creates healthy and sustainable growth.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My background is in large corporate. I spent many years traveling the world and driving large scale enterprise transformation. When I left the corporate world to start keystone, I did it with the intent of taking my big business experience and using it to help small and mid-size companies grow. Keystone’s focus has always been around taking a holistic approach to grow by assessing the strength of your strategy, leadership capabilities and culture to create a roadmap for growth that both achieves your strategic goals and also addresses the obstacles that are in your way to those goals. What we are most proud of is the fundamental change that we help drive in the culture of an organization and how they see their success changing from just hitting metrics and revenue goals, to truly building a business that is human centric and can also achieve key financial metrics and goals.
We believe the future of business is creating environments where humans can thrive and live into their personal purpose at work which in turn will create growth for the business that they could have never imagined. What if work can be fun, what if growth can be less painful? That’s the world that we believe we are creating for our clients.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
We focus on thought leadership and giving guidance and assistance as what drives our company flywheel. We spend a lot of time understanding what is happening in the market, what leaders are dealing with, where companies are getting good and bad press for how they are handling company decisions. We use that knowledge to create tools and approaches that can proactively help our clients. Our clients see us as advisors that can help them see around the next corner and proactively put a plan in place.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
My best advice for managing the energy of your team is to create space for the really important discussions. Doing fun things as a team is important, but just as important is creating the space to assess where your gaps and opportunities are, where the ceilings in the business are and how you can get better. People are energized by feeling like they are part of the solution and can contribute. Building a positive culture and keeping employee morale high is built on creating trust and transparency to how they can contribute to the success of the company.
