Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jaime Koller. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Jaime, thanks for joining us today. Before we talk about all of your success, let’s start with a story of failure. Can you open up about a time when you’ve failed?

My story of failure definitely comes from within. I’ve somehow developed a severely critical voice deep inside and rarely give myself much credit. I’ve learned through the years that failure leads to success. As long as action is being taken we are growing. I have to push forward everyday to get out of my own way. I believe we are all in our own way of whatever success we wish for. Failing forward is the only way to growth and I am here for it.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is Jaime Koller. I’m a fiery woman that happens to be a little loud and absolutely fun. I am a portrait and personal branding photographer with a focus on uplifting women. I’m great at helping people come out of their shell by showing up as my authentic self-even when it’s scary. That is my passion. There is no better gift than the gift of seeing yourself through another’s lens to hold a gaze for eternity.

My love for photography came as a child staring at album covers and old family images. I imagined what their life might be like and was enamored by what the subjects were wearing and their location. As a young adult, I fell in love with Old Hollywood black and white portraits. There is an intensity in the glamour and lighting that spoke to me. I decided I wanted to bring this gift to women of all ages. Since then my images have evolved into something in which I am proud.

I am here to show you just how beautiful you are. I have an easy time connecting, and being vulnerable myself, giving ease to the experience. When you show up for your portrait session we already know each other because we have customized your session down to wardrobe and lighting, backdrops and music and a little bubbly. You are pampered through the entire experience. This is a time to celebrate you! There is no better memorabilia to look back on than portraits. They are a time capsule. They are your time capsule. A legacy for you to leave to the world. Be SEEN you are worthy!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative for me is the journey of spirit versus ego. In order to truly create the ego must dissipate. There is peace in the zone; that is the gift of presence. As a photographer being in that space with another individual is the greatest reward of all. I enjoy meeting new people and learning about their experiences.I believe we grow through stories and having a time capsule through photography is a great gift to remind you of where you’ve been and where you are going.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

My goal and mission is to uplift women through portraits. I want to show women the beauty within themselves. We forget ourselves through the hustle and bustle and caring for everyone else. Stop and look at how far you have come! Celebrate YOU! You are worth it!
