We recently connected with Jaime Highfill and have shared our conversation below.
Jaime, appreciate you joining us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
There are a lot of steps involved in my process of putting out professional events for my studio or band or baking business. I have to make sure I have payment links, sign up forms all attached to my canva. I love creative ideas but I have to make a lot of connections I need to make between apps and things that only canva lets me do

Jaime, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have owned a music studio for over 25 years. I teach voice, piano, flute, piccolo, guitar and just over all music knowledge. I have hundreds of students I’ve taught that are now in the industry. I have 7 teachers and hundreds of students that attend lessons. My studio was name Best Arts School in Tulsa 2025.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
My son was diagnosed with autism at 2. This made me really dedicate myself to my business so I can spend more time with him. I quit my full time job at the bank and put a sign out for voice & piano lessons on the side of the road. Within a year of that date I was moving into my first studio location. We are at 25 years later and 3rd location!

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I was teaching Garth Brooks daughter and to me- no big deal. I did forget to tell others and neglect to realize, this IS a big deal to some! So here comes Allie gonna sing at her first recital (with Garth and Trisha) and EVERYONE is freaking out. My teachers, of course the performers, the parents!!! At the end of the recital I had to be “the bad guy” when the performers tried to make a line for autographs. If you would all figure out to pay attention to his daughter….. but we had to think about recitals differently after that.
