We were lucky to catch up with Jaid Taylor recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jaid, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
Man?! Most defining moment in my career was literally around this time last year!
So check this out, imagine you’re a entrepreneur & you started your business during covid – and it thrived! So just within a year of starting, I was already set on opening up a 2nd location & also making renovations to my current location – you can say I was investing back into myself! So boom, I took a couple trips to Dallas to visit my God-brother, went to his training session & before I leave I’m sending my resume in! This was not an opportunity I was seeking at all! Here’s the situation – leave my business & abandon the new and improved business plan I’ve created to be the NFL Pre-Draft Lead at the prestigious Michael Johnson Performance! Long story short, I chose to uproot and take the position. By far, best decision and most defining!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Jaid Taylor. Many know me in different capacities. I’ve been a promoter/club owner, radio personality & gym owner in my adult life! I’m 33 years old, originally from Little Rock, Arkansas (no, we aren’t always “banging in the rock” LOL).
However, I got into the industry about 8 years ago – before it was cool to be a “workout influencer”. I’ve been an athlete my entire life, so passion has always been there. As i got older and transitioned out of playing, I became more intrigued with how the body should move efficiently to perform optimally. I provide knowledge and an experience for my clients that they can’t get too many places. I provide a holistic approach for my clients to follow to not only get the results they desire, but to function better day-to-day.
I’m most proud of not only the results my clients achieve, but the relationships we get to build! Every one of them are like family. I literally have a open door policy, understanding that I’m more than just their trainer at times. I provide digital programming and virtual training, so even if we are afar, we’re still connected!
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Most effective strategy is simple – 1) outwork everybody 2) be consistent 3) be a good person
I don’t understand how people say they want to run a business and be so lackadaisical in their approach. No, you’ve got to put the hours in. Understand their are many other professionals just like you, competing for clients. If you’re not constantly working, then why would anyone want to work with you? Your consumer has to know that you’re consistent. Believe it or not, people love stability! Yes, it’s tiring at times but it’s rewarding in the long run. Lastly, be a good person. If I have to elaborate on that, then you’re probably not a good person anyway

If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
100% absolutely. I get to meet new people daily, I love being social & getting to know others. I’m lucky to be apart of success journeys. I’m held accountable by having to lead by example, living a lifestyle of health & wellness. Oh, and every day I get to wear athletic-wear and and new sneaks. That’s a win!
