We recently connected with Jah’Vena Nisbett and have shared our conversation below.
Jah’Vena, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk about innovation. What’s the most innovative thing you’ve done in your career?
As a crafter I spend time creating beautiful things that leave lasting impressions for every customer. Being driven by my own struggles with accessibility to having something that as a Virgin Islander I’ve grown on i gave birth to my herbal tea brand. “What’s The Tea”. The idea behind it was to be able to, not only have access to a cup of Bush tea worldwide but also be able to make that cup of Bush Tea anywhere without needing a pot to simmer. Giving birth to my Lemongrass Tea bag i was able to service Virgin Islanders as far as Germany and South Korea. My herbal tea Company has 5 flavors of herbal teas that left a lasting impression on so many. Lemongrass
Ginger
Chamomile
Mint
Soursop
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
This question gives me chills because everyone preaches on my strength and my resilience and my ability to bounce back and smile throughout it all and keep going. I have dealt with child abuse, sexual abuse, suicide attempts and ideations, depression anxiety and insomnia. Throughout it all I have learned strength is not the key, finding grace for yourself is the hardest and most difficult thing to do. When i learned to stop being strong and i learned to forgive myself i was able to keep pushing myself through all the trials and tribulations. Keep creating and keep doing what i love.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
“You can’t please everyone.” & “Your people & Your clientele sometimes doesn’t align and that’s ok.” As a business owner we always say the customer is always right and in here to say THEY ARE NOT! Consumer relations is just as important as good customer service. Never forget that.
