We were lucky to catch up with Jaeden Garnett recently and have shared our conversation below.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hello, my name is YNG ASTRO real name being Jaeden Garnett. I’m 18 years old still currently in the end of my senior year of high school. I’ve loved music ever since i was 5 years old unknowingly doing freestyle songs of my own in my head. ( Singing random things that didn’t really make sense obviously) I gotten into the music industry by listening to Michael Jackson. A huge piece of foundation for me becoming the artist i am today. I can honestly say my work ethic and the way i create and how much i can endure before taking time away to rejuvenate is beyond one’s ability. My background shaping me into who i am today granted me a lot of wisdom and understanding and everyday awareness about where i’m at in my career and how much further i aspire to become. I’m proud of myself for becoming resilient. it’s needed, i mean that dearly. Also being proud of my hunger telling me to always be ready to change and grow more and more. Proud of how life brought people and opportunities to me in due time in situations that could’ve been passed up. If there’s anything i could tell every last supporter of mine. You’re not my supporter you’re my family. you’re my mental canvas of inspiration. but i also want you all to know that shit gets hard no doubt. it can always get harder but if it can get harder why can’t it get easier.? Life’s experiences are what you let them be. if you let your mind live in a dull dark mindset it’ll forever be your perspective. Love yourself for everything your worth and what you bring to the table.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I never really had a genuine chance to have parents of my own growing up. it automatically limited a lot so early and it felt like a loop growing up. a full 360 of the same situations that would turn a kid down. Falling victim to abusing substances and chasing highs at age 15. i was too caught up on seeing artists i looked up to for awhile abuse those substances and it jus felt like it would’ve helped me distance me and my reality. that was a huge pivot before my career had even became a thought.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I was kicked out without an actual home for a while and it was hard to not break. To not let everything happening in my life at the moment kill what i’ve been trying to heal. Not knowing how i was gonna make things work but still managing to figure it out and pave a completely new path for myself. And now YNG ASTRO’s here.
