We were lucky to catch up with Jae Nicole recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jae, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
The legacy I aspire to build is deeply connected to the divine purpose revealed in my name, ‘Julia Nicole’. Two decades ago, when I was a mere 17 years old, I was blessed to meet my pastor and his wife, who became my spiritual parents. They have been my compass, my cheerleaders, and my truth-tellers through all the highs and lows in my life.
In 2010, my pastor, gifted with prophetic insight, gave me a spiritual interpretation of my name. “Julia Nicole”, the youthful one who brings victory to people. I was created to bring life to dying situations, infusing every atmosphere I enter with joy and encouragement, showing everyone that victory is always possible through Christ Jesus. This revelation has been a divine GPS guiding me through life’s twists and turns.
With this spiritual understanding as my guide, I aim to build a legacy that will bring glory to God. I want to be remembered as a woman who not only embraced her divine purpose but also lived it out unapologetically, helping others do the same. I aspire to be known as a person who championed others to live their most authentic and empowered lives, who used her God-given talents to serve and uplift those around her.
I hope people will say that through my work, I demonstrated God’s love, grace, and transformative power. That I was a beacon of light who brought life, joy, and victory into every situation.
Above all, my ultimate goal is that through my life’s work, God’s glory is displayed. I desire that my life serves as a testament to His grace, and that the people I have had the honor of serving are empowered to live their lives as testaments to His glory too. In the end, if my legacy points others towards a deeper relationship with God and a stronger understanding of their divine purpose, then I will consider my mission accomplished.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Coach Jae Nicole. I’m a Certified Life + Brand Coach with a passion for helping individuals translate their God-given purpose into their businesses and the marketplace.
My journey into coaching started in an unexpected way. I was assisting my church sister Kelly, a published author, and her husband Ryan, a food truck owner, to create a digital footprint for their businesses. I found joy and satisfaction in this work, and seeing the positive impact on their businesses was immensely rewarding. Simultaneously, I was helping another close friend Kevilynn, a Licensed Professional Counseling-Mental Health Service Provider, with her social media presence, honing my skills as a graphic designer and social media manager. It was both Kelly and Kevilynn who suggested turning my passion into a business. That was the catalyst for me to officially step into the entrepreneurship journey.
Today, I offer coaching, consulting, courses, and speaking events. My work is centered on helping entrepreneurs discover and align their unique God-given skills and talents with their business. What makes me unique is my belief in divine purpose and how it shapes our life and work.
I take great pride in witnessing the transformation of my clients as they embrace their purpose. Potential clients should know that working with me is about discovering and living out the purpose God has for them, not just business strategy. As a believer in Christ and business owner, it’s important that my clients position themselves to be found by their audience and create an impact for God’s glory. This can only be done when they walk in their purpose. I am committed to guide them on this journey.

Have you ever had to pivot?
There was a pivotal time in my life in 2017 when I established my business, J. Nicole Solutions, offering graphic design and social media management. The initial exhilaration of entrepreneurship was tempered by the harsh realities of a startup. My business direction was unclear; I took on anyone willing to pay, and thus ended up working with clients who were misaligned with my values and vision.
As I engaged more deeply with entrepreneurs, I noticed their need for purpose. Their focus was on growing their followers, but what they really needed was something deeper – a true sense of identity. However, offering this level of consultation went beyond my original scope of work, leaving me feeling unfulfilled and undercompensated. Moreover, I fell into the trap of comparing myself to other successful entrepreneurs, which led to self-doubt and disillusionment.
By the end of 2019, I was burnt out. I deleted my website and all social profiles with no intentions of returning. God had other plans. In 2020, during the pandemic, I joined Plunder Design as an Independent Stylist. While growing this business, I gained recognition and began helping other stylists with their branding.
In late 2020, I had an epiphany. I felt a calling from God questioning why I wasn’t charging for the advice I was freely giving – it dawned on me that this was the essence of my previous business. This led to a pivotal moment in my business journey.
In January 2021, I relaunched my business but with a renewed focus and purpose. This time, I emerged not just as a coach, but as “Thee Dopest Brand Coach”. Since then, my business has blossomed – securing speaking engagements, magazine features, and appearances in podcasts and panel discussions. Most importantly, I’ve truly begun walking in my purpose, doing what I love, and serving a unique audience that aligns with my values. This experience taught me the importance of alignment, clarity of purpose, and not being afraid to pivot when necessary.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building my audience on social media was a journey filled with learning and growth. The key was showing up authentically and staying true to myself. I started by showing up as the real me – transparent, genuine, and unapologetically myself. This involved sharing my own personal growth journey, including my therapy journey and how it has shaped my business and self-love journey. I learned that by being myself, I attract the people who resonate with my message and need my services.
For anyone starting to build their social media presence, my advice would be to embrace authenticity. Show up as yourself, because if you don’t, how can your audience find and connect with you? There’s so much power in being genuine and relatable – it creates a bond with your audience that is not easily broken.
Another essential piece of advice is to approach social media as a platform for service. When you post, do it with a purpose that is customer-centered rather than self-centered. So, when posting, aim to do one or more of the following:
-Encourage your audience – uplift them and provide positive, empowering messages.
-Engage your audience – create posts that invite comments, shares, and likes.
-Educate your audience – provide valuable insights, tips, and advice.
-Entertain your audience – people love content that makes them laugh, smile, or think.
-Entice your audience – showcase your products/services in a way that piques curiosity and interest.
Don’t get too caught up in the numbers game. I know it’s easy to become obsessed with the follower count, but it’s far more important to focus on genuine connections and interactions. Focus on the quality of your audience rather than the quantity. Having a smaller audience that engages with your content is much more beneficial than having a large audience that doesn’t interact with you.
Lastly, remember that building a social media presence takes time. Be patient with yourself and the process. It won’t happen overnight, but with consistency, authenticity, and a serving mindset, you will see growth. Stay consistent, keep learning, keep tweaking, and remember why you started.
