We recently connected with Jae Davis and have shared our conversation below.
Jae, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
A partner of mine expressed to me that she saw in the newspaper where a Billionaire stated that it was a shortage of internships in the entertainment field; so I decided that a problem that big should be fixed, so, I’ll do it. I come from the entertainment industry and I also went to school for business so I understood the importance of filling that gap. I had to map out every position in entertainment and match it with classes at colleges and universities. I then went to about 6 different colleges and built relationships with the advisors. I’ve been in the industry for over 8 years at the time so I had plenty relationships in the entertainment industry that most of the advisors at the universities didn’t have. That helped me to be the “key” to the solution of bridging the gap between interns and the entertainment industry. I took the same method and went and connected with schools across the country and interns throughout the world.
We did our soft launch in 2022 and look to do a full launch in Spring 2025.

Jae, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I come from a background of music and business, so I merged my passion for both and went into the music business. I began to manage talent in 2005 and continued on as I evolved into other aspects of the entertainment industry. Being a visionary, I came up with plenty ideas, and as the business woman I am, I executed mostly everything I thought of.. I made a reputation for myself and began to with with professionals like , Sean “Puffy” Combs, Rick Ross , Ludacris, Jermaine Dupri and many more in the industry.
After becoming a sought after manager, I decided to work even more behind scenes as an event and content producer.
I’m excited to be in a space where I love what I do and I look to make my name, message and love for GOD known across the globe.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe I built my reputation from good character and dedicated work. People would often hire me because once I was onboard, I would treat that business like its my own and outwork everyone around. I also wasn’t concerned about the money. I just wanted to put on a stellar show!! I knew people had to pay a lot to make things in business happen and then they wanted to make a few bucks for their vision and hard work! As long as I can be apart of something spectacular and add it to my resume, that was a win! I began to work with sooo many people and my name built from there.
I stayed consistent and on the scene, until everyone knew who I was..
Have you ever had to pivot?
In 2017 I was overwhelmed with managing acts that it started to really weigh in on me, without me knowing. At the time I was working with artist that was more concerned with who I knew and had access to than they were in perfecting their art. I began to feel stressed and unaccomplished and unhealthy.
I decided after going thru some turmoil with a group I was managing that I would throw in the towel for management and start to focus on the visions I had. That is the year that my non profit “WeAre1Chicago” and Mr production company “JaeCo Productions”. In 2022 I circled back to my management company and signed rising superstar, Mayelli.
