We were lucky to catch up with Jade Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jade, appreciate you joining us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
In 2011 I had an idea to start my own talent agency when my eyes opened to the way a popular Houston based talent agency was charging me to learn how to be a model/actress but had no intentions of believing in me. I remembered the next day calling the department stores asking them if they needed a model, as if it was a real job opening. After several no’s I took a few business classes and really learned what was needed to make myself a brand. I was correct because soon after I started Jada Stone Agency I booked my first modeling gig with Bebe.
After a few post on the World Wide Web I had talent coming from everywhere asking for help. That was when it all started to make sense. My talent agency quickly grew to into not only a place for models but for artist to, when I picked up my first rapper, Stunna Bam. After working on a few more major projects with Dior, Dillard’s, Urban Retreat, Este Lauder and many more, I began creating my own content to create more avenues for emerging artist.
So many were amazed how I was able to organize successful shows and concerts, that they started trusting me with their brands. I started organizing events at George R Brown and other convention centers. Now with my Bachelors in Business Management and Masters in Mass Communications from Texas Southern University I travel the USA helping business strive to be the best they can be. Wether it’s creating and implementing a marketing strategy, developing a community engagement event to empower the general public, or creating digital content to promote a brand, I get the job done.
When I decided that my talent went beyond helping book models, rappers, and musicians that’s when I grew into Jada Stone LLC. I realized that by not limiting myself I was able to have a huge impact on the world. These days you can find me traveling all over either working production for AT&T at the REVOLT SUMMIT sitting beside P Diddy or hosting a charity event giving back to those in need.
Nothing is impossible because at Jada Stone LLC we make dreams come true. We are exited to hear how we can help you walk in your truth. Email me today at [email protected].
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
There are no limits to the services I provide. We design graphics and web sites, organize trade shows and conferences, create effective business plans for start-ups and re-structuring, help obtain major funding or sponsors, staff events or help with hiring quality candidates, and write and produce commercials for our clients. You name is we can do it or connect you with the right network to get it done.
I’m also a mother of two beautiful children age 9 and 2. I always put my best foot forward to show them that anything is possible. Nothing can stop you from living your dreams.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
I’m always down for a good networking mixer or sparking uo a conversation anywhere. I believe in Devine intervention and I know my creator always puts me in the best situation to help and inspire others. I also have a skill for developing relationships with major brands and celebrities that becomes a huge asset to the clients I work with.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Having worked at REVOLT Summit in Los Angeles and Atlanta three years in a row I always bring home a more expanded way of thinking. The discussions I have and people I meet while working with REVOLT are nothing short of a blessing. I would definitely encourage business owners and artist to attend one year or look up REVOLT SUMMIT on YouTube for inspiration.
