Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jade Smith. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jade, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.

I think I first knew I wanted to pursue a creative path professionally when I was fresh out of high school. I knew I wanted to do something creative in the fashion industry but this was before Instagram and social media really making that attainable for someone like me.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My brand in itself is all about being confident in who you were meant to be. I’m currently pursuing two creative projects right now. The first one would be my virtual styling business. My reasoning in creating this business was to help other’s feel confident and stylish from the comfort of their own homes, while inspiring them to develop and cultivate their own personal styling voice. In fashion I am definitely always inspired by a piece someone else is wearing at the moment and vice versa, so I really feel it’s important as a stylist to not just push my personal style on the client but to encourage them in their own way of being in fashion. My second creative project is my vintage clothing line. I am currently creating this brand because thrifting and vintage clothing was truly my first introduction into fashion and it helped me to create and cultivate a true love and passion for it. Secondly, I believe that the fashion industry as a whole could benefit from using more recycled and second hand goods. In creating this vintage clothing line, I would be recycling and selling pre-loved and lightly used items while re-working/re-purposing items that may be more worn out and not resalable in its current state. We love our planet so we are going for more sustainability in every aspect for this project.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

My current goal/mission is to inspire others to step out of their comfort zones and to constantly challenge themselves to think more freely about the world as a whole. I believe in the Creator of the universe, He created us to be creative in some aspect or another. I think if we can all began to tap back into our gifts and use them to help benefit the world in a positive way then we could in return create a more beautiful planet and environment for others and for our future.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

I believe for me the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the joy I get in giving back with my creative projects. I love giving back with my gifts and inspiring others to do the same.
