We recently connected with Jade Ladson and have shared our conversation below.
Jade, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
When a client entrusts you with their wedding day, they are essentially making you a part of their family. To show that I appreciate being given this opportunity, I make a strong effort to stay in touch tracking Anniversaries, birth of children, future birthday’s and any other family celebrations.
There are so many ways to show a client that you appreciate them. Some actions we’ve taken in the past would be:
Sending a special keepsake with a great photo from the wedding/event
Sending a personal birthday/anniversary card via mail
Reposting different elements from their Big Day on social media
Inviting them to a fun night of partying at our annual client appreciation event where they receive a formal dinner, unlimited cocktails, prizes, and lots of dancing.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn the idea that selling was bad. I don’t know why, but I genuinely don’t care for sales people but I know they are needed to make the world go round. After an intensive session with my business coach, I was able to identify the things that I did not like about selling and the characteristics that turned me off about some sales people. With that knowledge I was able to sale in a way that felt authentic to me and ensure that while selling, I did not become like those that I distrusted in the past.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Instagram has definitely been the main source of new clients for the past 3-5 years and I relied on it very heavily. However , this past December all of that was taken away from me. My entire account was deleted without explanation and there was nothing I could do about it. I still feel that social media in itself is an asset, but I also know that I need to not put all of my eggs in one basket. I’m slowly rebuilding my social media following, but I’m equally building that following within my own mailing list and I’ve gotten back to good old fashioned networking. I’m out in the streets… Meeting, Greeting, & Making Magic ;-)
