Jade, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The mission and story behind Lip Ishhh Cosmetics goes back since my younger days. Growing up. I witnessed career oriented and fashionable women in my family wear the most beautiful makeup colors. Every cosmetics product they used with color. added an extra spunk to their look, and extra confidence. When I became of age to wear vibrant, bold, and unique colors associated with makeup. that’s when my love for cosmetics became evident. When a woman puts on makeup, it can exude and define the beauty of the woman. Adding that pop of color rather its lipstick, lashes, or gloss, just sets the tone of the look. When I created Lip Ishhh, I thought along the lines of wanting a cosmetics line that’s fits for a Queen, Royalty. I created Lip Ishhh Cosmetics not just from a background standpoint, but to ensure it not only defines beauty already displayed, but is made for every woman of every complexion.



As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Before creating my brand Lip Ishhh Cosmetics, I was an Educator withholding previous positions such as: School Counselor, Dean of Students, Social Studies Teacher, and English Teacher. I withhold 4 degrees, two of which are Masters’ degrees, and started my Doctorate degree during the pandemic, but put it on hold. My heart was in education, but as a young adult I always wanted to be a business owner, owning my own cosmetics line. I started this brand because I wanted to embark on the journey of having a cosmetic line that enhances the beauty of a woman. I also started this business because I want to pass it along to my daughter one day, so creating generational wealth for my daughter is my desire. I created this brand during the pandemic and after having my daughter in 2020. Some would say that maybe a lot, but I’ve been an up for the challenge type of person. Now a full-time entrepreneur, it has been a wonderful experience thus far. and I am most proud of the fact that I’ve had several opportunities that has led my brand to be used on celebrities, featured in magazine articles, and sponsorships at celebrity events.
Lip ishhhh cosmetics is a dream that turned into a reality, and it’s not just another cosmetics line, “It’s Sophistication With Glam!!”

Our products were aimed and set out to be made for every woman of every complexion. When stepping out on the scene, we don’t want to just enhance the beauty already presented, but ensuring you feel comfortable, look good, and stand out from the rest. Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Being a business owner definitely sometimes lead to challenging situations, and taking the initiative to pivot in business as well. A lesson that I’ve learn being in is figuring out my target audience and pricing. when I created my brand, I knew I was in a saturated niche, but I still felt that my brand would be loved by all targeted audiences. Boy was I in a rude of awakening. I had to sit back and analyze who’s my target audience, who does the brand appeal to, and are you just trying to be in a stagnant place of just having the brand noticed in my hometown only? After figuring out my audience, realizing that I could really get my brand out there to be worldwide, it‘s like the puzzle pieces came together. Another lesson was pertaining to my pricing. I had to stand firm and realize the true value and quality of my brand, and the prices align perfectly . Purchasing Lip Ishhh is worth every penny.



Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Social media definitely helps your business to flourish overtime. Social media has allowed my business to be seen by so many people, and it’s been great thus far. Starting out, I was so use to my own personal social media platforms, but never really thought about how different it can be running a business. There’s a certain time to post, certain time to do a live pertaining to your products, what to include when creating ads, and so much more to consider. On my own, it was not going as well as I thought it would. So, I have a team that helps me in that particular area.
