We were lucky to catch up with Jade Harman recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jade, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
I would’ve started my creative career sooner. This was when YouTube wasn’t well known yet and Instagram was barely in the picture. I remember Facebook and Vine were the go-to platforms for creatives to show off their skills and for those who wanted to make people laugh. I was huge into my creative side and vlogging, but I never dared to post on social media till I got into college.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a freelance model here in the valley. I do runway, beauty, fashion, and fitness. I’ve been in the modeling industry for a little over 4 years now. Besides being a model, I am behind the camera/spotlight as well. By helping off-stage for fashion shows, being a social media specialist for different marketing agencies, and being a content creator.
I tend to showcase a different side of my work. I am not a cookie-cutter type of person when it comes to doing things. I am original and enjoy adding symbolism/meaning behind my work whether it’s for me or the clients I am representing. Being a social media specialist/content creator, was always a dream job of mine. I wanted to capture something powerful/timeless for the audience to remember.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist/creative is being able to see how much you have grown over the years. Every year is a new year of transformation when it comes to your heart, mind, and soul. I realize that as a creative you have to deep-dive into both worlds, the inner and outer world of you. I have grown a lot in my spirituality over the years by doing just that.
I focus on self-love, and self-identity through my art, because it is tied back to my adoption. I share a lot about healing and finding your own identity through art. My sacred geometry art is color therapy through art. Healing is a huge factor in being able to decode your inner understanding of who you are and the gifts you have to offer the world.
Ever since 2020, my spiritual art has grown rapidly in a spiritual sense. For example, I now tie my visual art of sacred geometry with sound healing through music. By creating this for of art, it allows my audience to receive two forms of healing: color therapy and sound healing. It’s still a work in progress, but I am excited to see what manifests.
Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I am optimistic about NFTs. I’m part of Generation Z, so I believe it is important to be able to be open-minded about what is possible and understand the pros and cons of NFTs. Back it up and do your research. The biggest thing I can say is, to acknowledge NFT exists, and maybe learn the fundamentals of it. To keep you updated to some degree because it doesn’t hurt. Watch and see how you feel about NFT in half a year to a year to decide more about it. We are always changing and expanding our consciousness.
