We were lucky to catch up with Jade Fransen recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jade, thanks for joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
My parents did a lot of things right. They instilled a drive in me to work hard and to strive to reach my goals and achieve my dreams. They didn’t give hand outs to me. I had to work for everything and anything that I wanted. I wanted to go to the movies, I had a list of chores to do to earn the money to go. I had to pay for my phone, but if I was on the A honor roll, they covered it. These things taught me that if I work hard and persevere, I can overcome any challenge and be successful in any and all endeavors that I pursue.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I first picked up a camera in the summer of 2020. I had been stuck at home teaching my students from my couch. There was a lot of time alone and indoors and I wanted to get out and do something.
I found a camera and some online classes and started learning about the pieces of cameras, photograph composition, and editing software. I quickly realized how much I love taking photos and capturing people’s personalities in a snapshot. I started offering free sessions to friends and coworkers, anything to keep practicing!
Fast forward to today, I own my own business, Jade Diane Photography! It has taken a lot of work and I still have a long way to go. I provide any and all photography needs to my clients but I specialize in families, couples, and individual portraits. I am a very laid back person and that is what sets me apart. I love when my clients are able to show who they are through photos without harsh posing. I am so proud of all that I have accomplished and I cannot wait to meet new clients and see how my business grows moving forward.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients for me has been word of mouth. My past clients will refer people to me and so will my friends and family. I also post on social media and offer a variety of mini sessions throughout the year so everyone has equal opportunity of capturing their special moments, no matter their financial situation.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe my reputation is built on who I am as a person. My number one goal is to leave my client happy and excited to work together again. I am happy to walk through things and I am an overall positive and laid-back person. My current turn around time is very fast and I make sure to include my clients in the culling/editing process so they get to pick the pictures that they love the most. After all, these photos are for them, not me.
