We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jade Dietrich a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jade, appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
If I’m being completely honest, I don’t think I came up with the idea; it found me. Let me explain and dive a little deeper. I’ve always loved the fashion and beauty world, I’m what one would call a girls girl. I started to play into it a little more in my high-school years, and be more creative and expressive with my makeup choices. It first started out with my family and friends asking for make up advice, and make up services. Then, turned into word of mouth services, and now I am a running a full blown business intertwined in the beauty industry. Thinking back to 2015 when it started, I remember being nervous and feeling the pressure to create looks all while listening to the client and making sure to keep them feeling comfortable in their skin. I’ve grown since then. I never set out to become a make up artist. Though, I’m so thankful my passion found me. I am a true believer that what is meant to be will come to you and I’m thankful for that.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
First and foremost, I’m a wife, I’m a mom of three, and I just hit my 30s. Without the love and support in my personal life I would not be able to pursue my professional dreams. One of the things I enjoy most is the creative art that comes with makeup application. I’m not so sure everyone thinks the same way as me, but I believe the face is a blank canvas and there is no such thing as a replicated one. The challenges that come with that push me to perfect my craft. I think it’s no secret we are most critical of ourselves, and being able to help a client problem solve when it comes to their skin and makeup concerns is an essential part. I truly enjoy having a client sit in my chair, ask questions and learn new techniques, products, all while watching me work through a mirror, or feeling the application process as it goes. One thing I want potential clients and followers to know is that I’m constantly continuing my education, to provide trendy and professional services.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
It’s not about what as much as who has built my brand. I have been fortunate with loyal clients that believe in my business and word of mouth referrals have provided tremendous impact.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Authenticity. I feel like people can really tell if and when someone is not being their true genuine self. Being able to connect with other individuals through social media has been huge. They can feel through the screen who you are. I started to post and something connected. Ive also learned to be consistent. Your followers who connect with you want to see your face and listen to what you have to say.
