We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jada Shirley. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jada below.
Jada, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
My father used to do clothing and I was only allowed to get 1 piece of each color of whatever tshirts or hats he made. He wasn’t too fond of my ideas lol or trying to switch his work around he wanted it how he wanted it. Months after his passing I found an interest in clothing.. but not just any particular clothing. I wanted to have a high end clothing brand called Ashleigh. Only the thought crossed my mind after while it faded. Not too long after that, I was headed to vegas with family for a vacation and on the road I just started designing clothes and the midst of a deep conversation the words “you gotta realize everyone ain’t gonna be as loyal as you” came out and I knew from there exactly what I wanted to do.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Well my name is Jada Shirley, most know me as JShirlss. I found interest in the clothing business due to my father having his own brand and the simple fact I’ve always had an eye for fashion! I am also the owner of Real Apparel. Real, which is short for Realizing Everyone Ain’t Loyal and is a streetwear clothing brand that is not only for adults but also for kids and is unisex. My brand offers streetwear clothing like graffic tshirts, sweats, shorts, socks, backpacks and etc. My creativity and my pricing is what sets me apart from others. I like to take the time to create something different that hasn’t been seen while also keeping it affordable. Any issues that any of my clients have I resolve in less than 24-48hrs while giving incentives to return and shop with me. I am most proud of myself for maintaining and doin what I said I was going to do by not giving up. Being an entrepreneur is not easy but if you put in the work it will pay off.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I’m a person that likes to get out there and be outgoing.. so I want to say doing vendor events 100% helped me build my reputation. Putting myself out there on the limb, letting people see the face behind the brand and getting to know some customers. Staying consistent in doing events definitely helped me build reputation.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I keep in touch with my clientele through email or social media. A lot of my clientele actually reach out through instagram to let me know they’ve ordered, or send me inspirational words about my business. I give all of my subscribers “JUST BECAUSE” discounts as in id do a random sell in the middle of the week. I do customer appreciation sales or if a customer has a large order they’ll get a pair of socks or a tshirt with their order.
